The $500,000 guaranteed PPC Winter Main Event may be a little over a month away, but that does not mean there are not plenty of tournaments to play at PartyPoker. Quite the opposite, in fact. Players from around the world padded their bankrolls this weekend, and 16 PartyPoker players got their hands on a $530 PPC Winter Main Event seat from our first no-direct buy-in satellite.
The Grand saw 120 players compete for a slice of the $118,700 prize pool, which was far greater than the advertised $75,000 guarantee. The juicy prize pool attracted some of the best poker tournament players in the business, including our very own Matt Staples, Dimitar Danchev, Christian Rudolph, and Simon Mattsson.
That quartet of players failed to finish in the top 23 where the prize money was distributed. The likes of Rodrigo Seiji, Justin Bonomo, Claas Segebrecht, Steven Van Zadelhoff, Preben Stokkan, Alexandro Theologis, and Joakim Andersson did cash but missed out on a seat at the final table.
Allison Luan Lima Eleres ($3,264) saw his tournament end in a ninth-place finish. Vladimir Minko ($3,855) and Thomas Boivin ($4,465) were the next to fall, Boivin building on his recent MILLIONS Online KO success.
UK-based Spanish superstar Adrian Mateos ($5,209) joined the list of busted players before Ireland’s Christopher Goodey ($6,411) and Alexandre Raymond ($8,502) busted, the latter scoring the last four-figure prize.
Swedish grinder Michael Lundqvist ($11,859) was eliminated in third, leaving Jans Arends heads-up against Ireland-based Lithuanian Alex Kulev. Arends got the job done and his hands on $22,397, leaving Kulev to collect the $20,390 consolation prize.
Don’t forget that you can win your way into The Grand from as little as $0.01, thanks to our centrolls. Other The Grand satellites cost $0.55, $5.50, $22, and $109, the latter feeding into the $1,050 The Grand event.

Pgvholla Walks Away With Super $215 Title
The Super $215 is one of our popular Sunday tournaments, and another that obliterated its guarantee this weekend. Some 309 players competed for a share of the $61,800 prize pool when $50,000 was guaranteed.
$10,378 went to “Pgvholla” who was the last player standing in this exciting progressive knockout tournament. PGvholla defeated “OffToRozvadoff” who banked $7,135 for finishing second and who now has plenty of money to head off to Rozvadov if they should so wish!
Battle it out in this weekend’s Super $215 from as little as $0.01. $5.50, and $33 satellites are also available; good luck!
