03.00

On a board , Antoine Saout bet and his opponent shoved. Antoine tanked a while before making a great call with . But he still had to avoid many outs against . The river was a blank and Antoine moved up to nearly 200K.

02.35

Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier had been eliminated. The Frenchman shoved his last 15,700 behind a raise in early position. He was way ahead his opponent with versus but the first card on the flop is the 5 and ElkY got no help on the rest of the board. One of the best known players is out.

02.15

Two short-stacks moved all-in before the flop and Mickaël Ostreicher decided to call both with King-Queen suited. He was up against two Ace-King and caught a sweet queen on the turn.

A few minutes later, he was up against two players on a flop and bet out 10,000. His opponent raised to 24,600 and «metzmagny» shoved for 30K more. He was called and was drawing super thin against . Turn and river were no help and it was the end for Mickaël Ostreicher

02.00

Estelle Denis doubled up. A player raised preflop and Estelle moved all-in for 12,100 total. Her opponent called with and had live cards against the of Estelle. The board gave a flush to both players and allowed Estelle to breathe a little easier. She has 25,000 now.

01.45

Powerful move of Anaïs Lerouge. Antoine Saout’s girlfriend raised preflop for 3,600 and got re-raised to 10,600. She moved all-in instantly for 60,000 total and her opponent eventually folded Ace-King. She showed a pair of… ducks.

01.20

Albert Sosnowski just won a healthy pot in a weird way. While the cut-off raised to 2,000, Albert announced raise and put 2,800 in the middle. He obviously didn’t see the previous raise and the dealer forced him to make the minimum raise, 4,000. The cut-off called, a little bit pissed off.

The flop came and both players checked. On the turn , Albert Sosnowski check/called 5,000 before the river was checked by both players. The of Albert was enough to win the pot.

00.45

Antony Lellouche just lost a big pot. There was a limp in early position and a player isolated just behind to 2,800. Lellouche, in position, fired a 3-bet to 6,800. The rest of the table folded and the initial raiser quickly called. They both saw a and Antony’s continuation bet of 8,500 was called. The action slowed down when the turn and river came and and at the showdown, Antony couldn’t beat the of his opponent.

At the same table, «Basou» keeps going well and his stack is around 180,000!

00.15

Quads! Sebastien Boyard limped under the gun, two other guys limped as well and «Basou» checked his option. The flop came and Basou bet 3,200 and was called by two players. On the turn , we had three checks. The river was and the small blind bet 2,500. Basou folded but Sebastien Boyard raised to 7,500. The small blind called with for the full house but Boyard showed up with for quads!

Antoine Saout is having a pretty good run. He has almost reached the 100K stack.

00.00

Antoine Saout just gave a big headache to another player. The pot was big on the river with the board was . Saout bet enough to put his opponent all-in, almost 20K. After two minutes of tanking, Antoine asked the time and his opponent quickly folded.

23.30

Antony Lellouche has been transfered to the table of «Basou», who’s sitting with more than 200,000 chips. And he’s using those chips very well. He raised from middle position to 1,525 and got called by the button. On a flop , Basou c-bet 1,500. His opponent announced «raise» and dropped a single chip of 10,000, keeping only 15,000 behind. The fearless (and well-stacked) Basile Yaiche re-raised enough to put the button all-in, who tanked a little bit before releasing his hand, flashing .

23.00

The EPT champion Christophe Benzimra had a bad run just before the break. He lost a big pot with Ace-Queen against Ace-King and another pot with eight against Jacks. Down to 9,000 chips, he moved all-in with and got called by . No comeback for Benzimra when the ace hit the board and another good player is busted.

22.45

The tournament director just made a pretty funny announcement. He said that we’re not anymore 542 players but only 541. Why? Because a stack of one player has been removed. Why? Because he played both day 1A and day 1B! Why? Because he misunderstood that it was the same tourney and thought he was playing on different tournaments.

He came to the floor by himself to explain his mistake. He got a refund and his stack minus the 30,000 starting chips will be attacked by the other players tomorrow on day 2! Who’s gonna be at the table of the ghost? Wait and see.

22.30

The WSOP Ladies champion Vanessa Hellebuyck just took a hit. The board was and Vanessa called the 4,500 bet with for aces up… but her opponent showed up with a better aces up, .

22.00

Ludovic Lacay has busted. Less than 15 minutes after the break, Ludovic Lacay played his last hand. Flop was and the Frenchman bet 2,200. His opponent raised to 5,000 and «Cuts» shoved for 12K total. He got called by for a straight draw, while Ludovic had . The turn had Lacay drawing dead, it was a and he left the room without seeing the river.

21.45

Big pot for ElkY. There was a big pot on the flop already with almost 8,000 and Bertrand bet only 2,250. His opponent raised to 6,800 with only 8,000 behind. ElkY insta-shoved and we all waited 2 minutes before his opponent put the rest of his chips in the middle with .

Grospellier needed to improve with . Turn is a but river is a and ElkY took down the pot. He has around 70K now.

21.30

Players are back from the dinner break. Blinds are 200/400 and the average stack is at 38,082. 219 players left.

21.00

One of the famous non-poker faces playing the WPT Amneville is Polish boxer Albert Sosnowski. Tatjana Pasalic spoke to him on difference between poker and boxing:

20.45

Tatjana Pasalic spoke to Antoine Saout and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi on WSOP November Nine.

20.30

Players are on a dinner break. 238 players remain out of 279 that started the day. The tournament director showed up with some numbers: the WPT Amneville is played by 542 players total. 54 players will be paid, the 54th will return home with 7,200€ and this is the top 3:

  • Winner: 433,000 € + an entry to the grand WPT final in bellagio (worth 25,000$)
  • Runner-Up: 229,000 € + an entry to the next WPT Paris (worth 10,000€)
  • Third: 161,000 €

20.15

On the flop Ilan Rouah checked, as did Tristan Clemençon and another player. The turn was , the unknown player made a committed bet about 10K, keeping 4k behind. Ilan moved all-in, he was way ahead with . The trapper became the trapped as the other player had for top two pair on the flop. The river was a blank and Ilan Rouah is now at 75,000 chips.

20.00

On the flop , we already had a big pot and one player was all-in. Martial Blangenswitch moved all-in also and the third player went into the tank. Martial asked the time and get an insta-call. Martial showed for top set, the other player had and the short-stack was almost dead with . Turn and river were useless and Martial went up to 70K.

19.50

On a flop, Also Lisi was raised by Candido Goncalves and decided his hand was good. He shoved all-in with and Candido Goncalves made the call with . With his tournament life at risk, Aldo Lisi needed a miracle and the miracle came, first at the turn and then on the river to give him a runner runner straight.

On a board, Roger Hairabedian overbet the pot, putting his opponent all-in, that represented a bet of 19,000 into a less than 10K pot. After a long thought, cards went into the muck while Roger showed Ace-Nine for a complete bluff.

19.30

Sometimes you just have to say “Phewwwww”. Two players were all-in before the flop with against and the flop came . On the turn, a scary … but the river came and they chopped it!

One of our PartyPoker qualifiers Laurent Ducrettet is doing pretty well. He bet 1,200 on the flop and his opponent gave up. He has 41,000 in front of him now.

19.10

We are back after the break. 255 players remain of the 279 who started the day. Blinds are 150/300 and the average stack is at 32,823.

19.00

Rebecca Gerin found a good hand to shove her stack on a flop . She held aces but her opponent showed up with middle set and sent her into the rail.

Guillaume Darcourt has been eliminated as well. After he had to fold in a big pot with trip queens, he lost a big pot preflop with Queens against Ace-rag. A few hands later, he moved all-in with two pair, just to be called by a better two-pair hand. Sometimes you’re just not running good enough.

18.45

Philippe Ktorza just took down a big pot. The blinds were 100/200 and three players limped. With , he just called from the small blind. The flop came and a guy in middle position opened for 1,400 and got called. Ktorza raised to 3,800 and the first bettor moved all-in for 15,000. Quick call for Philippe who was in great shape against and won the pot.

Jean-Noel Thorel raised 625 before the flop, and Nicolas Dervaux 3-bet for 1,300. Emmanuel Schmidt then 4-bets from middle position. Thorel quickly called and looked at Dervaux who gave up. The flop was 6-2-3 and both fighters checked. On the turn, Thorel announced “All-IN”. Schmidt folded quickly and Thorel tables up Ace-King…

18.30

Stephane Gerin played a 80K pot. With , he raised from middle position and got called by Stephane Benadiba. The flop came and from raise to re-raise, both players went all-in. Benadiba had and found his flush on the river. Down to 1,200 chips, he lost a coin-flip just after the break and has been eliminated.

18.00

The tournament director has just announced that we have reached more than 500 players registered in this WPT.

17.50

Basile Yaiche is flying! On a board “basou” bet 6,600, his opponent just called. River was a blank and Basou overbet slightly by betting 25,000. His opponent moved all-in and “basou” quickly called with for the top full house, obviously enough to beat the in front of him. Nice setup!

Another enormous setup, and this time it’s Jim Collopy who almost got busted out. The board was and the Frenchman Joris Di Gregorio moved all-in and Collopy snap-called with top full house … But Di Gregorio showed for quads and took down a huge pot. Down to 2,400, Collopy moved all-in the next hand with Ace-King and won the flip against a pair of Queens. He is alive but struggling.

17.30

A player has just been eliminated with a pair of Queens. Against Kings or Aces? No… his opponent four-bet preflop enough to put him all-in (for approx. 15K) with and made a flush on the turn…

Meanwhile, Ludovic Lacay is still running pretty bad. However, he managed to do a really good fold with Ace-King preflop. His opponent showed two aces.

16.50

Two PartyPoker players are seated at the same table. Michael O’Malley just lost a pot. Three players limped and O’Malley made it 300 to go from the button. Thorel called from the small blind so did Patrick Sacrispeyre, Steven Buhler and another player.

The flop came and everybody checked to O’Malley who bet 1,050. Thorel called and all other players folded. The turn was . Same story with a check/call of 2,100 by Thorel. At the river, a Thorel bet 4,000. O’Malley thought about it but eventually folded.

16.30

Antoine Amourette eliminated. The runner-up of the Grand Prix de Paris left the room just before the break. He shoved with a flush draw and got called by a better flush draw. He caught a miracle pair on the turn but the flush came on the river, sending him into the rail.

16.00

Small beat for Hugo Lemaire. On the board , the Frenchman called a bet of 1,500 and his opponent showed a rivered full house with .

On certain tables, the action is already a little bit crazy. On the river, two players were on showdown on a 20K pot. The first one showed a fourth pair and the second one a second pair, enough to take the pot.

15.30

Bruno Fitoussi eliminated! Fitoussi was one of the men who worked to get the WPT to be in Amneville, and he’s not really rewarded for this. He had a set of fives on a connected board and Barbara Martinez had a flopped straight.

15.10

Ludovic Lacay takes a hit. After a preflop raise, Lacay bet 525 on a flop, then 1175 on a turn. At the river, a , he check-called a bet of 2500. His opponent tabled and Lacay mucked.

2.30

Day 1A has ended in Amneville, and we already can say that this World Poker Tour is a success. 260 players registered for the day. Among us were a bunch of very good players like Marc Inizan, Adrien Allain, Jean-Paul Pasqualini, Nicolas Levi, Arnaud Mattern and Jake Cody. We also saw a lot of online qualifiers, some of them had a really good day.

Some of the best hands of the day:

Of course, some “crazy” bluffs like the overbet all-in of Arnaud Mattern who got his opponent to fold with… six-high.

We also had proof of the good run of Nicols Levi who managed to build a nice stack despite making some mistakes (like the 4-bet with AJ against the AK of a PartyPoker qualifier).

We don’t know exactly what is responsible : the late night or the aggressive image that Adrien Allain has, but he got a huge pot when his AK flopped the nut straight and his opponent moved all-in for more than 80 blinds with one pair and a straight draw.

Tomorrow, it is going to be a great long day too with the presence of Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier who showed up today and got the attention of the whole room.

Also, we’ll see Ludovic Lacay, Antony Lellouche and a bunch of great international pros. See you tomorrow!

1.50

Vikash Dhorasoo has been eliminated from the tournament. With , he made a straight on but his opponent had him crushed with .

Another good player got busted out, Bruno Launais held Ace-Queen and got crushed by the Aces of his opponent.

Jean François “jeffonx” Hemmer is swinging a lot. After a bad beat, he went down to 15,000 chips but got back quickly to 25,000 without showdown. Shortly after, he was in a coin-flip with AK against Queens and caught two aces on the board to double up. He’s now around 60,000.

Adrien Allain took down a very big pot. Holding AK, he found the perfect flop and after a continuation bet of 9,000, his opponent moved all-in for 80,000 total! It was obviously snap-called by Allain, his opponent was in a terrible shape with . Despite a scary club on the turn, the board remained safe and allowed Adrien Allain to move up over 180,000 chips. He’s one of the chip-leaders.

01.20

Marc “Loscta” Inizan is in a good shape. He has 110,000 stack and seems well-prepared to make another deep-run. Stay tuned!

While his table was breaking, Leo Truche played his last hand of the tournament. The flop showed and a player bet 10,000. Leo thought for a while and eventually moves all-in for 44,700 total. His opponent went into the tank for a long time before making a good call with a pair of eights. Leo couldn’t show a better hand than a pair of sevens. Turn and river were safe for the better hand and we have a new elimination.

00.40

Two PartyPoker qualifiers busted out recently. First, it was Romain Gravisse who moved all his chips in the middle with a pair of tens. His opponent showed up with a pair of Queens and the best hand held up.

Next, it was Sylvain Pruvost who faced a really aggressive player and decided to 4-bet for his entire stack with AQ. He ran into aces and got no help.

Big setup against Jake Cody. The cut-off raised to 2,500 and Julie Marjollet moved all-in for 19,000. Cody pushed from the big blind, as well as the cut-off behind.

Three-way showdown :
Jake Cody : QQ
Cut-off : KK
Julie Marjollet : AA

Aces remained in front and Cody took a serious hit. He was eliminated a few minutes later with against a pair of tens.

00.00

Benjamin Pollak won a good pot on a board. He bet 10,000 on the river in a 25,000 pot. His opponent eventually made the call with a pair of Queens just to see the held by Benjamin.

Jean-François “jeffonx” Hemmer, PartyPoker qualifier, just lost a few thousands in a bad setup. He flopped a flush with and decided to trap. The turn brought a fourth spade and slowed down the action. Anyway, he called a river bet of his opponent who held the ace of spade. He still has 32,000 in front of him.

23.30

We are on a 15 minute break. 179 players remain, the average stack is 44245 and the blinds are 400/800.

23.00

Ludivine Gransart, the actual chip-leader, is on a rush. She just eliminated one player by forcing him to play a coin-flip on a flop. She had against a pair of eights and the on the turn closed the deal for the opponent who’s heading to the rail. Ludivine has now over 170K.

22.30

Michael Sebban just lost a big pot when he folded on the river against an aggressive opponent. A played limped and Michael raised from the button with . Two players saw the flop and Michael fired 2,800, but was quickly called.

Turn was a , check again and bet again from Michael, this time 4,800. But his opponent raised to 15,000. The online qualifier was nearly sure he was facing a desperate move here so he decided to call.
River was a and Michael faced an all-in bet for 35,000. Mike thought about it a long time before eventually calling the time for himself. His hand was burned after the 60 seconds. His opponent showed 78, a semi-bluff on the turn followed by a strong bluff on the river.

22.00

“Ronando29” remains very active at his table. He has got the position on the actual chip-leader of the table, Nicolas Levi. He raised to 900 preflop and got re-raised. No problem as he put 8600 in the middle to make his opponent fold. He showed a 4 of spade…

A few orbits later, new raise from “Ronando” and again he got re-raised. This time, it was Nicolas Levi from the big blind waking up to make a 4bet. “Ronando” folded and the original re-raiser 5-bet for 19,200. Levi quickly folded showing a 4… “That doesn’t work anymore??”
