April 26 was a massive day for partypoker’s tournament players. POWERFEST continued smashing its guaranteed and the Poker Masters came to a thrilling conclusion.

There was another POWERFEST title for Team partypoker’s Joao Simao, there’s simply no stopping the Brazilian sensation!

POWERFEST: $150K Gtd 8-Max PKO

Some 1,676 players bought into the $150K Gtd 8-Max PKO for $109 and it was our own Joao Simao who was the last man standing.

Simao had to overcome a tough final table that included the likes of Diogo Veiga and Ali Zihni, the latter falling in sixth-place for $2,391 plus $693 worth of bounty payments.

The top three finishers each won more than $10,000 when bounties were included. Rafael Eltz busted in third for a combined prize worth $10,246. This set up a heads-up clash between Simao and Biagio Sereno.

Our hero got the job done and claimed a total prize worth $21,629, leaving the runner-up to scoop $12,806.

POWERFEST: $400K Gtd 8-Max PKO

Another member of Team partypoker went deep in a high stakes POWERFEST PKO event, but fell at the final table. Josip Simunic navigated his way to the eight-handed final table of the $400K Gtd 8-Max but his stay was short-lived. Our Austrian star busted in seventh-place for $4,914 plus $3,180 worth of bounties.

Ireland’s Toby Joyce crashed in sixth for a combined $10,292 with another Ireland-based grinder in Darrell Goh seeing his tournament end in third place. This netted Goh a prize worth $26,490 in total.

Goh’s exit left Joonatan Kaunisto and Marc-Andre Ladouceur to play one-on-one for the title. Kaunisto lost the battle to the Canadian WSOP bracelet winner and consoled himself with a combined prize worth $38,811. This left the talented Ladouceur to collect $65,129.

POWERFEST: Big Game $1M Gtd Phase Final

The Big Game once again beat its guarantee with $1,174,170 awarded across the top 32 finishers. As you would expect from a $5,200 event, those who cashed read like a who’s who of online poker.

Our own Patrick Leonard, Connor Drinan, Mike Watson, Tom Middleton, and Samuel Vousden cashed. As did Leonard’’s teammates Jordan Drummond and Joni Jouhkimainen, the latter falling in 10th for $20,900.

Poker Master champion Pascal Lefrancois burst the final table bubble, falling in ninth for $20,900.

The eight-handed final table was ridiculous; it was so packed with talent. Bruno Volkmann was the first casualty. Recent guest on the Jaime Staples Weekly Poker Showdown Benjamin Rolle followed suit before Poker Masters Main Event winner Linus Loeliger fell in sixth for $49,315.

Nick Petrangelo and Daniil Lukin crashed and burned before Jordi Urlings’ tournament ended abruptly in third-place for a $123,874.

Brazil’s Yuro Dzivielevski and Alex Foxen fought it out for the massive top prize. It was Foxen who got his hands on this, a cool $239,413. His heads-up opponent had to settle for a $173,777 runner-up score.
