April 11 was another solid day for Team partypoker players in POWERFEST events. It was an especially good day for Brazilian sensation Joao Simao who managed to take down a $109 Mix-Max PKO, while Jeff Gross reached another two final tables.
POWERFEST: $75K Gtd 8-6 Mix-Max PKO
A field of 747 players bought into the $75K guaranteed 8-6 Mix-Max event and it was one of our own who was the last player standing.
Joao “brjoaosimao” Simao found himself heads-up against “NOREGRTS” for the title and the lion’s share of the bounty prize pool. Simoa sent NOREGRTS to the rail and got his hands on the $5,247 top prize plus an additional $5,404 worth of bounties. The runner-up walked away with $5,239 richer plus an extra $605 from the bounty prize pool.
Simao is well into double figures when it comes to POWERFEST wins. We can’t wait to see if he gets his hands on another title before this epic series concludes on April 19.

POWERFEST: $70K Gtd 6-Max Deepstack
Jeff “JeffGross” Gross is doing everything he can to win a POWERFEST event but Lady Luck just isn’t on his side at the moment. The popular Team Online grinder reached yet another final table, this time in the $530 buy-in $70K Gtd 6-Max Deepstack.
“Madgenius111”, “SCUGN1ZZ” and “DontDo_IT” all busted from the final table and collected prizes of $4,620, $6,930 and $9.297 respectively. This left three players in the hunt for the title, Gross among them.
Gross ran out of steam and fell in third-place. This result netted him another $12,727. Amazingly, Gross also finished second in POWERFEST: $100K 6-Max PKO for $11,827 plus $1,204 worth of bounties. Surely a victory is only around the corner?
Heads-up pitted “unluckymelon” and “salmonfishing” together for the $24,142 top prize. Salmonfishing reeled in that chunky top prize, leaving unluckymelon to rue their luck and to collect the $17,902 consolation prize.

POWERFEST: $150K Gtd 6-Max PKO
Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard was one of 93 entrants in the $2,100 buy-in 6-Max PKO that carried a $150,000 guarantee. Our hero navigated his way to a star-studded final table before falling in fourth-place for $9,502 plus $2,887 from the bounty prize pool.
Before Leonard’s demise, “Talespin” crashed out in sixth for $4,615 plus $1,312. “Whoo0ps” followed suit after slipping up, fifth-place yielded $6,787 plus $6,103.
The super talented “PayAndPlay” was the penultimate elimination. Third-place saw them win $13,031 and add $1,312 to that prize from the bounty prize pool.
“relentless” was the last player standing on this occasion after they busted “Dandelion32892” at the final hurdle. Dandelion32892 banked $21,166 plus $14,995, our champion scooped $21,185 plus an impressive $33,764 worth of bounties.
