The latest edition of the POWERFEST is thriving with guarantees being blown out of the water. Joao Simao headlined our last round-up thanks to reaching two final tables. Jeff Gross is the man under the spotlight this time around thanks to a trio of PLO final table appearances! What a guy!
POWERFEST #18-HR: $20K Gtd PLO 6-Max
Monday saw 83 players exchange $530 for the chance to become the POWERFEST #18-HR: $20K Gtd PLO 6-Max champion.
Team partypoker Joao “XjoaosimaoX” Simao almost reached yet another final table but ran out of steam to finish in eighth place for a $1,348 addition to his bankroll. The amazing “Sundaynightking” busted in seventh-place and popped the final table bubble.
“notably” was the final table’s first casualty. They banked $1,763. Then our very own Jeff “JeffGross” Gross fell by the wayside in fifth-place. This finish netted Gross $2,593.
“PayAndPlay” and “munkkis” were the next players to bust, which set up a heads-up battle between “VitoBranciforte” and “attitydsproblem”.
The latter emerged victoriously from battle and scooped $12,981. The runner-up consoled themselves with the $8,092 second-place prize.

POWERFEST #18-H: $15K Gtd PLO 6-Max
Gross reached his second PLO POWERFEST final table of the night in the $109 buy-in event. We’ve added a ton more PLO tournaments during POWERFEST and to the “normal” schedule and Gross is a big fan.
Gross navigated his way to a fourth-place finish in this tournament and reeled in the $1,752 prize. “Quixotic” and “Corey” fell before Gross, winning $860 and $1,290 respectively.
Third-place and $2,418 went to “UntzUntzUntz”, a username that sounds like the beat to a techno tune.
“biiitconnneeect” fell at the final hurdle and secured the $3,440 second-place prize. This meant “RukitaBukezuski” was crowned the tournament’s champion, an accolade that came with $5,354.

POWERFEST #27-HR: $25K Gtd PLO8 6-Max PKO
Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low PKO tournaments were launched uring this POWERFESt and Gross jumped straight in. Unfortunately, for Gross at least, he couldn’t quite get the job done the first time around.
Instead, Gross had to make do with another fourth-place finish. Gross collected $2,069 from the main prize pool and an additional $1,082 worth of bounties. Only the runner-up and champion netted more scalps than Gross!
Speaking of which, the amazing “Junglemandan” took down this event. Victory saw Junglemandan’s partypoker account swell by $4,613 plus an additional $8,599 worth of bounty payments. You may recall Junglemandan won The Game Game and partypoker MILLION on the same night. He certainly knows his way around a poker tournament table.

POWERFEST #25-SHR: $500K Gtd 8-Max
A field of 127 created a guarantee-busting $635,000 prize pool in the POWERFEST #25-SHR: $500K Gtd 8-Max event. Sixteen players got their hands on some of that money, each netting at least $12,700.
It was a great tournament for Team Partypoker’s Jason “Jason_Koon” Koon. Koon had been battling it out in Russia in some mega buy-in tournaments. The partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Super High Roller Series Sochi may not have gone to play for Koon, but he made up for it with a third-place finish here for a cool $79,375.
This is the largest prize won by one of our players so far. It was, however, blown
out of the water by the incredible prizes locked up by the final two players.
“KETOandYOGA” saw $111,125 come their way when they finished in second-place. “FrannersFeet” was the last player standing and was rewarded with $155,575!
