Chris Cameron was already a partypoker fan before he won Leaderboard 2 in our Legend of the Week ongoing promotion. Now, he loves the site even more.
The Edinburgh-based personal trainer first discovered poker around ten years ago b watching it on television. This is so many poker players’ route into this crazy game we all know and love. Chris dived into the world of no-limit hold’em and never looked back.
“I started playing for fun around two years then started to realise I could make money so started to taken poker more seriously in the last five years.”
Chris is primarily a tournament player who mixed in sit & go games too. Most of his play is now at partypoker, for reasons he told the partypoker blog.
“I prefer mixing MTTs and SNGs mainly on partypoker as of the last six months due to them looking out for players more. Before then, 90% of my volume used to be on PokerStars.”

Incredible Performances During Daily Legends Events
Chris was on fire during his Legend of the Week Leaderboard 2 run. He won one of the Daily Legends, finished second in another, and reached three final tables. His impressive run resulted in his taking down Leaderboard 2 with almost twice as many points as his nearest rival. We’d have to double-check, but that could be a record margin of victory.
Victory saw $776 worth of Daily Legends ticket hit Chris’ account. A $215 Warrior ticket, a $111 One Shot ticket, and a trio of $150 tickets gave Chris a shot at the big time.
“I used all the tickets and never ran great in any of them. I still cashed out a few hundred dollars, and it was good to play in the bigger tournaments on a freeroll.”
“The Legend of the Week is an amazing promotion, giving opportunity for all players to compete in a weekly leaderboard with really good rewards. You don’t even have to play every single day to win prizes. Being able to play in much higher events from lower stakes adds some excitement.”
You will bump into Chris a lot over the coming months if you are a regular at the partypoker tables. He plans to get his grind on and bag plenty more prizes.
“My goals for the rest of the year is to make $5,000 per month from MTTs across all sites, but mainly on partypoker. I’ll also be grinding SNGs for leaderboards and taking advantage of partypoker’s cashback which is also an amazing reward system and made me cross over to playing more SNGs here when I used to mainly play MTTs.”
