Brazil has another POWERFEST champion after Pedro Madeira navigated his way through a 123-strong field in the $1,575 POWERFEST #17 – High Roller Super Six.
The top 19 finishers won a slice of the $200,000 prize pool; and what a final 19 it was.
David Coleman was the first player to cash in the event; he collected $3,508. Others who added another POWERFEST cash to their Poker CV included Jans Arends, Mike Watson, Daan Mulders, and Thomas Muehloecker.
All but two of the final seven players who reached the final table walked away with a five-figure prize for their efforts. Jelle Moene and David Szep crashed out in seventh and sixth-place respectively for prizes worth $7,325 and $9,056.
Fifth place and $11,628 went to Epsen Jorstad, who was followed to the sidelines first by Jonas Hagstrom ($15,800), then by Juan Pardo Dominguez ($23,052). Dominguez’s exit in third left Adrian Mateos and Madeira heads-up for the title.
Mateos would have been the favourite to win another major title, but Madeira caused an upset and won the one-on-one battle and the $48,332 top prize. Mateos finished in second place and padded his bankroll with a $32,890 score.

Some 6,886 players bought into The Big Fifty over a plethora of starting flights, only 29 of them remain in contention for the $46,808 top prize.
“PZTEYTEY” returns to the partypoker tables at 19:05 BST on April 20 in the envious position of chip leader. The leader has 29,474,514 chips in their stack, one of only three stars to break through to 20 million barrier.
“Greenstone25”, one of the best online poker tournament grinders in the world, occupies second place at the restart courtesy of their 24,018,082 chips. “DWweezy” and their 21,536,237 stack return in third and with a realistic shot at POWERFEST glory.
Each of the returning 29 players sits down safe in the knowledge they have locked up at least $1,040 for their $55 investment. Progress to the final table and that prize increases to at least $3,202. Finishing fourth or better secures a five-figure prize, with the eventual champion walking away with $46,808 and the title of Champion.
