Team Online’s Matt Staples reached the final table of the Powerfest #65-H event and busted in fifth-place for a $1,560 prize. Disappointed not to have taken down that event, Staples made amends by becoming the champion of the Powerfest #65-M: $20K Gtd Deep Turbo 8-Max, a result worth $3,684.
The popular Canadian streamer defeated Germany’s “daddybig77” heads-up for the title; the runner-up scooped $2,622, tweeting to his 12.7K Twitter followers, “BOOM Just shipped my first ever Powerfest title! 1st $33-M Turbo for $3,684 and 5th in the $109-H $1,560.”
It was a fantastic result for Staples who now goes into the final day of POWERFEST full of confidence and hoping to become a two-time POWERFEST champion.
