Some 1,024-entries were processed over the course of five live Day 1s and one online Day 1, ensuring the £1 million guarantee was hit. The top 119 players received prize money, a min-cash weighing in at £2,250 and £155,000 reserved for the champion.
Such luminaries as partypoker LIVE President John Duthie (92nd for £3,000), James Atkin (74th for £3,500), Tom Hall (61st for £4,000), Richard Trigg (25th for £5,500), WSOP-C UK Super High Roller champion Orpen Kisacikoglu (20th for £6,500), and Jeff Kimber (14th for £10,000) were just a handful of top players to reach the money places.
First Elimination of the Final Table
The final day began with nine players in the hunt for the £155,000 top prize, but the player count was reduced by one soon after play commenced when Andrew Hulme’s proved to be no match for the dominating
in the hand of Timothy Chung.
Hulme was joined on the rail, via the cashier’s desk of course, by Mahamed Muse, Jack O’Neill and James Alsop before the popular Fraser MacIntyre lost a big coinflip with against Paul McAulay’s
then lost the rest of his stack when his
ran into the
of Hasmukh Khodiyara.
Final Three Strike a Deal
McAulay then busted in fourth-place, leaving the final three players to strike a deal for the remainder of the prize pool. Based on ICM, the deal saw £15,500 and the WSOP-C gold ring left to play for and the last three player guarantee themselves:
- Hasmukh Khodiyara: £111,935
- Andrey Veselov: £99,030
- Timothy Chung: £97,065
Chung’s impressive run ended in a third-place when he called off the rest of his stack with after Khodiyara had three-bet all-in with
. No help arrived for Chung on the community cards and heads-up was set.
Veselov trailed Khodiyara by 16,500,000 to 34,625,000 chips, but managed to first claw himself level before triumphing over his opponent. The final hand saw Veselov open to 1,300,000 with , Khodiyara three-bet to 3,100,000 with
and Veselov four-bet all-in. Khodiyara went into the tank and emerged with a call.
The dealer fanned the all-spade flop to gift Veselov a flush. The
turn locked up the hand for Veselov and left Khodiyara drawing dead. The inconsequential
completed the board, busted Khodiyara and left Veselov to get his hands on a prize worth a cool £114,350.
