WPT World Online Championships Satellites Launched

The launch of the inaugural WPT World Online Championships is just weeks away, and partypoker is giving away $500,000 in tickets through its daily MTT schedule and satellite program. The WPT World Online Championships will run from Friday, July 17, 2020, to Tuesday, September 8, 2020, offering a guaranteed $100,000,000.

With the WPT World Online Championships being designed to offer something for all types of players, buy-ins across all satellites will range from $3.30 to $1,050. There will be at least one headline event for each week of the festival, which will be one of the 12 championship events in the series, and specific mega satellites will run for one week prior to the start of each headline event.

Places in WPT World Online Championships events are also reserved for the winners of selected daily scheduled tournaments. The seats being given away are worth a total of $500,000. Players can look out for the ‘WPT Seat Added’ moniker on selected tournaments in the ‘Featured’ tab. Further opportunities for recreational players to qualify for the series will be announced in due course.

There are also pre-event lead-up satellites running daily until Sunday, August 9. The tournaments feed into the $5,000,000 guaranteed Mini Main Event. Players can buy-in to the satellite event for $109 and win a $1,050 ticket. Additionally, there are daily $22 phased satellites for this event, which lead into a weekly Monday final. The first final for the Mini Main Event begins on Monday, July 6.

The standout event of the series will be the $10,000,000 guaranteed $10,300 buy-in Season XVIII WPT World Championship Online Main Event, from Saturday, August 29, to Wednesday, September 2. The satellite program for this will run from Sunday, August 23 to Sunday, August 30.

An Authentic Poker Experience

The WPT World Online Championships are designed to replicate an authentic live poker experience. Players’ real names will be used at the tables and there will be a maximum of two Day 1s for the 12 championship events in the series, with a maximum of one re-entry allowed. All championship event winners will be entered into the exclusive WPT Champions Club.
