Here at partypoker we’re no strangers to the adventures of traveling the globe in order to spread the word about our beautiful game, from Vegas to Melbourne and everywhere in between the old poker road takes us. For the first time in partypoker history though the cards have taken us to a different green field this time it’s Turin turn, and the home of Juventus.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, we’re here to talk about poker AND football, two incredible passions combined! And really what better way to combine them than our new series the “Poker Champions Cup” a true Champions League of Poker.
Taking The Game To A New Arena!
Over the last few weeks many of you battled it out for the opportunity to qualify for this competition, and then choose the team you want to defend from the sponsors: Olympique de Marseille, Juventus, Real Madrid , Manchester United and Anderlecht.

Once at the stadium things got even more interesting when the players got to play poker with some true football legends. Manuel Amoros for Marseille, Denis Irwin Manchester, Enzo Scifo for Anderlecht, Stefano Taconni for Juve , and Rafael Martin Vazquez Madrid .

Kicking Off The Fun!
Below Kara Scott and team legends started the event by handing out club jerseys to all of the players. Then all players participated in 6 Sit & Go’s with the lucky and skillful winner receiving a Samsung Galaxy, 100 points for his team , plus a place for the Sit & Go where a WPT Live Event package was at stake!

Shortly after it was team Manchester United who took the crown, led by Irwin and hence winning the first ever Poker Champions Cup well done guys! Again as well as fame they’ve snagged a pretty sweet all inclusive snazzy VIP weekend!
After the poker all the participants received a ‘money can’t buy experience’ of a life time with a special VIP guided tour of the world famous Juventus Stadium and Museum, they’ll also attend a match in Turin, plus enjoy dinner at exclusive ‘Porto di Savona’ restaurant!
