The blinds had creeped up to 3,000/6,000 ante 1,000 by the time the first elimination of this season’s Premier League took place.
From early position an active Antonio Esfandiari opened to 14,000, it folded all the way round to Scott Seiver in the blinds, he moved in for 144,000 total and Esfandiari made the calll.
The flop gave Esfandiari the lead, “right in the window,” said Jennifer Tilly. The turn actually gave Seiver more outs but he missed them all on the river.
“It’s no big deal, I’m going to keep playing my game. The beauty of the structure is you get four shots. Everyone is playing well, but I’m fairly confident.”
Soon after this hand Daniel Negreanu moved all-in with pocket jacks over the top of an open by Daniel Cates, who had , Antonio Esfandiari then looked down at thought it over for an age before folding, an action Cates copied a short time later.
In the booth Jesse May said: “This could be a game of two halves, now a players gone out it might completely change it.”
