Andras Nemeth is the latest superstar to take down the $200,000 guaranteed The Grand Daily legends tournament. The Hungarian has one almost everything there is to win in the online poker world, and can now tick off The Grand from his to-do list.
Some 228 players competed in the final phase, either by buying in direct for $1,050 or playing their way through the various phases, which start at only $2.20. The final 39 of those 228 players shared a slice of the guarantee-busting $225,652 prize pool.
Chris Day was the unfortunate soul who popped the all-important money bubble. Day’s exit paving the way to the cashier’s desk for such luminaries as Christian Rudolph, our very own Mikita Badziakouski, Andreas Breggren, Niklas Astedt, Simon Mattsson, and Dominik Nitsche.
Those players finishing in the top five spots walked away with five-figure prizes. Arsenii Karmatckii, Samuel Vousden, Alexander Van Der Swaluv, and Rodrigo Selouan were the four finalists who missed out on a $10,000+ prize.
Michael Skelnicka fell in fifth for $10,520 with Alik Zazian banking $14,304 for his fourth-place finish. Third place and $21,287 went to Marton Czuczor, leaving Nemeth heads-up against Paraskevas Tsokairdis. Nemeth rarely loses when he is one-on-one, so it was unsurprisingly to see him claim the title and the $44,152 top prize. Tsokairdis had to console himself with a still respectable $30,818.

Twenty Players Win Their WPTWOC Main Event Day 1A Seats
Twenty more partypoker players won their WPT World Online Championship (WPTWOC) Main Event Day 1A seats via the latest Phase Final. There is no direct buy-in into the weekly finals, which take place every Sunday, which means nobody will pay more than $109 (and as little as $0.01) to compete in the $5 million guaranteed WPTWOC Main Event via our phased satellites.
Star players including Tomas Fara, Daan Mulders, and Robin Ylitalo, were among the 20 players who banked seats this week. Twenty-first place finisher, Marcus Ford, burst the bubble for the tickets, but still netted $336 for his efforts.
The 20 ticket winners join the 53 who have already booked their place on Day 1A of the $5,300 WPTWOC Main Event Day 1A. They join the likes of our own John Duthie, Joao Simao, and Jeff Gross, Gary Hasson, Mickey Petersen, and Marty Mathis.
Phased satellites run everyday throughout the week, will you be joining the 73 players who have won their seats so far?
