Hungary’s Andras Nemeth helped himself to the largest prize of the 2021 Irish Open so far when he topped a star-studded field of 52-entrants in the €2,100 buy-in High Roller.
Nemeth’s victory, the latest in a long, long line of impressive first-place finishes, saw him walk away with €33,688. The Hungarian superstar secured this sum when he sent Donatas Elinauskas to the rail in second place; the runner-up banked €20,690.
Earlier at the final table, Christopher Putz finished in seventh-place for €4,994 with Swedish high stakes specialist Simon Mattsson falling in sixth for €5,803. Alexander Shalkovski and Ludvig Lindstrom were the next casualties; they collected €6,926 and €9,355 respectively.
Patrick Pedersen of Denmark fell in third and netted the tournament’s first five-figure score, namely €13,493.

Baker Becomes The Hendon Mob Championships Champion
Some 233 players bought into the €265 The Hendon Mob Championships event and it was Philip Baker who was the last player standing. Baker, who calls the United Kingdom home, reeled in the €11,397 top prize after besting a final table that was the home to some superb players.
Dara O’Kearney is one such player. The popular Irishman could only muster a fifth-place finish in this event, which won O’Kearney €2,715. Joshua Hoesel must have fancied his chances once O’Kearney crashed out, but his tournament ended abruptly in third, a finish good for €5,495.
Baker locked horns with the Netherlands’ David Hu heads-up and got the job done. Hu scooped €7,995 for his bridesmaid finish, leaving Baker to get his hands on their lion’s share of the prize pool.

Upcoming Irish Open Event – Another Massive Mega Sat
There is a ton of Irish Open action taking place over the Easter weekend, including the value-packed Irish Open Main Event Mega Satellite. That takes place at 15:30 BST on April 4 and guarantees 100x €1,100 Main Event seats will be won.
It costs €109 to enter but you can win your way into it from a mere €0.01, which would be incredible. Last week’s Mega Satellite smashed its guarantee, we fully expect this week’s edition to do the same.
