The inaugural MILLIONS Online KO series reaches its penultimate weekend this week and it is fair to say that it is a massive weekend of action for poker tournament grinders. A dozen huge events take place between May 20 and May 22, including Day 1C of the $1 million guaranteed Main Event and the $500,000 guaranteed Mini Main Event.
The Weekender kicks off the weekend before the Main and Mini Main Events shuffle up and deal. Last week’s Weekender Champion, Mexico-based grinder Nikita Kalinin, turned his $215 investment into an impressive $34,413 haul. Imagine if you got your hands on this sum.
Both the Main Event and Mini Main Event see their third Day 1 kick-off on May 22; they shuffle up and deal at 19:05 BST. The blind structures for these tournaments are fantastic and certainly give you plenty of bag for your buck.
$1,050 is the buy-in for the Main Event. For that sum you receive 1 million chips and play to a 20-minute clock where the blinds start at 3,500/7,000/875a. Only a single re-entry is permitted, and late registration slams shut at the end of the 12th level where the blinds will be 15,000/30,000/3,750a.
The structure is almost identical for the $109 Mini Main Event, except this $500,000 guaranteed tournament sees its blinds increase every 15-minutes instead of 20-minutes.
Each Main Event and Mini Main Event Day 1 concludes when only 15% of the field remains. Have a single chip in front of you at this time and you progress to Day 2 on May 30 safe in the knowledge you have at least hit the first tier of payouts in addition to any bounties you’ve collected along the way.
Don’t worry if the $1,050 or $109 buy-ins are outside the constraints of your bankroll because there are dozens of satellites starting at a mere $0.01. A Mega Satellite for both tournaments kicks off on May 22 at 17:00 BST. The Main Event Mega Sat has 25x $1,050 seats guaranteed while the Mini Main Event Mega Sat guarantees 50x $109 seats will be won.
