Timo Kamphues finds himself in pole position in the WPT #14 High Roller Championship where only 20 of the 114 entrants remain in the hunt for what is a bankroll-boosting first place prize worth $268,960.

Kamphues finished Day 1 armed with 1,278,532 chips, the only player to bag up a seven-figure stack, although second-placed Jonathan Proudfoot came close with 932,743 chips.

1 Timo Kamphues Austria 1,278,532
2 Jonathan Proudfoot United Kingdom 932,743
3 Leon Sturm Austria 800,992
4 Jon Van Fleet Canada 731,578
5 Pedro Garagnani Brazil 685,105
6 Leonard Oliver Maue Austria 675,723
7 Eelis Parssinen Finland 664,853
8 Tuen Mulder Netherlands 653,997
9 Thomas Boivin United Kingdom 617,895
10 Simon Mattsson Sweden 611,220

The entry list read like a who’s who of the online poker world, such is the lure of a high-stakes World Poker Tour event. Team partypoker’s Mikita Badziakouski, Isaac Haxton, and the newest addition Yuri Dzivielevski almost reached Day 2 but ultimately fell short.

Sergei Koliakov‘s elimination in 21st place brought the curtain down on Day 1; it burst the money bubble, too.

The 20 surviving players, and what an incredibly talented bunch they are, return to their seats at 20:05 BST each guaranteed $20,000 for their efforts. Reaching the final table increases that payout to $40,768, with the top three finishers reeling in a six-figure score.

Kamphues may lead right now but some of the online poker world’ best players are hot on the Austrian’s heels. Former MILLIONS Online champion Jon Van Fleet (731,578), Brazil’s Pedro Garagnani (685,105), Eelis Parssinen (664,853), Teun Mulder (653,997), and Simon Mattsson (611,220) each have top ten stacks.

Then you have the likes of Andras Nemeth, Christian Rudolph, Joakim Andersson, Sam Greenwood, Dan Smith, and Timothy Adams still in the mix. Everything points towards Day 2 being an epic encounter.

Do not forget to tune into our Twitch channel from 20:30 BST for all the action, as it happens, from the $10,300 High Roller Championship.

Schemion Tops the $5M Gtd Main Event Day 1B Chip Counts

Ole Schemion

Fresh from winning the $25,500 Super High Roller event for almost $390,000, Ole Schemion stormed to the top of the WPT #07 Main Event Day 1B chip counts. Schemion finished top of the counts courtesy of amassing 3,273,638 chips before the second of four flights concluded. The Austria-based German’s stack is enough for fifth place overall with two flights remaining.

Bulgaria’s Georgi Sandev was the only other Day 1b entrant who finished with more than three million chips in his stack.

Others to look out for on Day 2, which runs on September 13, include David Coleman (2,216,335), Luc Greenwood (1,961,198), Christian Rudolph (1,089,802), Timothy Adams (1,018,014), Pascal Hartmann (952,605), and former WPTWOC Main Event champion Christian Jeppsson (405,624).

Day 1C of the $5,300 Main Event shuffles up and deals at 19:05 BST on September 12 with the turbo-structured Day 1 running from 16:05 BST on September 13.

There is a Day 1C Mega Satellite schedule at 16:05 BST on September 12, too. It has 50x $5,300 seats guaranteed for the $530 buy-in, although you can win your way into it from only $0.01 thanks to our centrolls and the fact the satellites are phased. Good luck.
