Hey guys its been a while since my last update here so its time to recap things that have happened lately.
Start of 2020
The start of the year has been quite busy. I’ve been on the road most of it starting from MILLIONS UK which was held at Nottingham. As a city its not one of my favourites but I like to go there every year because Dusk till Dawn is a great casino to play poker at. The Main Event didn’t go as planned and ended up firing 3 bullets and not making it to the money. As a back up plan I jumped into the 10k high roller and managed to make deep run. It was nice way to kick of year 2020 by finishing fourth for $90k in this super tough final table.
After that I flew directly to Australia which has become my favourite stop of the year. Aussie Millions first and Australian Poker Open later. In the latter I managed to have some success at PLO tournaments. These 10k and 25k tourneys didnt attract too many players but my 2nd and 4th place finishes was good for combined 230k AUD to bring back home from Australia. After the Australia trip it was time for a vacation in Thailand and practice my golf game. Next I’m planning to focus on online poker.
Cash games on partypoker
Right now things are looking really good in partypoker for cash game players which I consider myself as. Leaderboards for fastforward have been getting bigger and bigger and pools have been up most of the day. partypoker have also just introduced leaderboards for cash games where you can win a share of $150,000 per week.
We are also adding an additional $30,000 to the weekly cash game leaderboards with separate leaderboards for $0.01/$0.02, $0.02/$0.05, and $0.10/$0.25 players from Monday 24th February following player feedback on social media.
As well as the leaderboards, the new fastforward app for phone is just awesome, with cash games update coming soon. I recommend everybody to try it.
I can’t wait to jump back in to the virtual felt after not playing for the past 6 weeks. It was a long wait for the Run It Twice feature but that is now finally at partypoker too (on fastforward on desktop at the moment but will be launched on cash games soon) which is a great feature and it lowers the variance in the games a bit. Another thing I’m happy to see is the addition of ante games. I personally think that antes fit really well in most cash games and forces more action.
My next plans besides playing online is pretty unclear at the moment. One stop I’m 100% going to is the latest addition to the MILLIONS tour – MILLIONS Cyprus. Pretty soon after that I will go to the WSOP where I’m really looking forward to the first ever $50k PLO event. That would be great timing for a bracelet!
Hope you guys are having great start of the year too and don’t forget to check out that new mobile app!
Take care,
Jouhki
