Johnny Lodden Signs With partypoker

partypoker is delighted to announce it is adding Norwegian professional poker player Johnny Lodden to its roster of ambassadors.

Lodden first cashed in a major live poker tournament in 2004 in the St Maartens Open and has gone on to earn almost $2.62 million in winnings. The 31-year-old holds the record for number of cashes on the now defunct European Poker Tour with 22 in-the-money finishes; the void left by the closure of the EPT is filled by the new partypoker LIVE tour, led by the EPT’s founder John Duthie.

“partypoker has always been one of the world’s largest poker sites and it is an honour for me to be part of their team. It was important for me to sign with a company that believes in their poker product and their mission. The fact that John (Duthie) has been appointed President of partypoker LIVE ensures their commitment to the game, and that is something I am excited to be part of,” said Lodden.

Thomas Udness congratulates Felix Stephensen

Joining Lodden as part of Team partypoker is Thomas Udness who now heads partypoker in the Nordic markets. Udness has been an instrumental figure in the legalisation process for poker in Norway and was responsible for the first two legal Norwegian Championships of Poker held in Norway.

Udness said of joining partypoker: “I am humble and proud to be given the opportunity to head partypoker in the Nordics. And it is amazing to once again be working with Johnny Lodden. He is a poker legend both in and outside of the Nordics and is a player that is highly respected around the world. Together we are already looking at how we can to give players great poker experiences both live and online.”

One of Lodden’s first duties as a partypoker ambassador is to wear the famous patch at the partypoker MILLIONS event at Dusk Till Dawn, which runs from April 16 through to April 23 and boasts of a £6 million guaranteed Main Event. Knowing Lodden as we do, it is also likely he will get involved in the side events if he doesn’t succeed in his quest to win the MILLIONS’ £1 million guaranteed first-place prize.
