Anton Knutar aka BTJack will be joining hak128888 at the WPT National Series Denmark, and we managed to catch up with before heading off to hopefully conquer another tournament.
Knutar may only have a few live event cashes under his belt but who are we to argue when two out of the three are for 1st place wins? He took down the Nordic Light Poker in 2011 and followed that up by winning the 2011 Swedish Poker Championship in Riga later the same year. Previously he also cashed at a WSOP event ($ 1,000 No Limit Hold’em) in a field which contained Mad Marvin Rettenmaier as well as Kara Scott.
DW: Hi there and welcome to our virtual rail, first things first as usual, can you let us know when you got the poker bug?
AK: I started playing poker with some friend from school when I was around 16-17 years old after watching WPT on tv. I started playing online when I turned 18 (2006)
DW: So how about your play, where would we find you more online or live?
AK: I play a mixture of online and live but mainly on the internet. My main game is online midstakes cash games although my biggest wins are from live tournament. I try to play online tournaments a couple of times a week.
Ohh just a couple of wins and a cash at a WSOP event that’s all…
DW: You’ve had a few nice results live, can you tell us a little more?
AK: I have played the WSOP main event twice and cashed in one bracelet-event. I’ve also played some live tournaments in Sweden. I actually managed to win the Swedish live championships in 2011 which is my main merit.
DW: Alrighty how about outside of poker?
AK: I would say that my biggest interest outside of poker is football. I love watching and I use to play with my friends, my favourite team is Liverpool. I used to play a lot of badminton and I competed on a fairly high level in Sweden until I was about 20.
Respect due
DW: Can you name some pro’s and tell us what you think of them?
AK: My favorite player would probably be Phil Galfond because of all the contributions he has done to the poker community with instructional movies and really helped people to get better and understand the game on a higher level. I also enjoy watching isildur1/Viktor Blom play and it would be awesome to play with him some time.
DW: You win big, I mean James Bond nemesis big, more money than sense big, what do you do?
AK: I would buy a new apartment =)
DW: Well I hope it would be rival anything Dr No. would build, anyway how did you prepare for this win, any tips or tricks you want to let us in on?
Last to the Party
AK: My friend was going to play the satellite and told me about it. I didn’t even remember that I had a party poker-account so I had to talk to the support to get my account name and change password and then I late-registered and went all the way =) it was my first ever party poker tournament I think. I’m really looking forward to the trip and Im hoping for some success ^^
DW: Okay so you we’re late to the Party and you still took it down, many thanks and good luck in Denmark!
