The ₽618,000 buy-in (approx. $9,358) WPT Russia High Roller drew a compact field of 31 entries, meaning only the final four players got their hands on a slice of the prize pool. It was Armenia’s Khachik Grigoryan who bust in fourth-place to win ₽1,960,000 ($29,674).

Grigoryan’s elimination left three players in the hunt for the trophy and this trio decided to pause the tournament clock so they could discuss a deal for the remaining prize pool. Those discussion bore fruit and the least any of the players could now win was ₽4,215,190 ($63,818).

Denis Kushnerov was the player who benefited most from the deal because he crashed out in third-place. Thanks to the deal, Kushernov banked ₽4,458,300 ($67,499). This elimination sent the High Roller into the heads-up stage where Team partypoker’s Filatov locked horns with fellow Russian Andrey Chernokoz.

It was a battle that Filatov ultimately won, resigning Chernokoz to the ₽4,215,190 ($63,818) runner-up prize. This latest victory netted Filatov ₽6,987,610 ($105,793) and boosted his live poker tournament winnings past the $3.1 million barrier.

Filatov’s Hot Streak Continues

Our Russian Team partypoker Pro is enjoying the form of his life and long may it continue. In the live arena, Filatov triumphed in the partypoker MILLIONS Russia Main Event in August 2018 for a career-best score of ₽60,000,000 ($944,230). This epic result came only three months after finishing second in the WSOP Circuit Sochi Colossus event that saw Filatov scoop ₽6,000,000 ($96,840).

Throw into the mix a €50,000 cash for finishing 11th in the partypoker LIVE Grand Final Barcelona High Roller and a CAD$60,000 score for his seventh-place finish in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America High Roller and it is easy to see why Filatov is one of the most feared and respected live poker tournament players on the circuit today.

It’s not only in the live arena that Filatov has been excelling; he’s been crushing online too.

Now ranked 11th in the world for online poker tournaments by PocketFives, a career-high, Filatov has been vacuuming up chips at the partypoker tables like they are going out of fashion.

A $159,000 score was added to Filatov’s lifetime winnings in September 2018 when he finished second in the POWERFEST #003-SHR: $1M Gtd Championship Event and a fortnight later he was the fourth-place finisher in the POWERFEST #095-SHR: $1M Gtd Championship Event for an additional $114,660.

Filatov has won several of our biggest Sunday Power Seres tournaments recently, including the Sunday High Roller Bounty Hunter: $200K Gtd Mix-Max Fast for $59,351, the Sunday Bounty Hunter High Roller: $200K Gtd Fast for $52,935 and the Sunday High Roller Bounty Hunter: $150K Gtd for $44,545.

More than $1.26 million of Filatov’s $4.22 million online winnings stem from him grinding at partypoker.

Congratulations to Filatov from everyone at partypoker for yet another impressive poker tournament victory.
