The Sunday Party received the MILLIONS Online KO treatment this weekend, with PartyPoker boosting its guarantee to $200,000. The chunky prize pool drew in 1,734 PartyPoker players, each paying $109 for the opportunity to become a MILLIONS Online KO champion.

Team PartyPoker’s Patrick Leonard and Matt Staples were among the entrants, but their quest for Sunday Party glory did not go to plan, and both busted outside the money places without any bounties to show for their grind.

Some of those who did finish with some main prize pool money in their PartyPoker accounts included Paul McTaggart and Steven Van Zadelhoff. The elimination of Brazilian Bruno Oliveira in tenth set the official final table.

Quartet of Brazilians Reach Sunday Party Final Table

Four of the nine finalists hailed from Brazil, making it likely a Samba star would walk away with the top honours. One of that quartet, Tales Braga, fell in ninth place and reeled in a $2,117 score.

Then came the eliminations of Lasse Enjarvi of Finland, and Pablo Martin-Romo of Mexico, who padded their bankrolls with scores worth $1,935 and $4,021, respectively. The latter won so much more money than eighth place courtesy of eliminating 15 opponents before they crashed out.

Brazil’s Tomas Cytrynowicz saw his tournament end in a sixth-place finish worth $5,199 before British star Michael Panayiotou collected $5,819 after running out of steam in fifth.

Luiz Gordilho of Brazil finished fourth for $6,417, and Tom Hall, one of the United Kingdom’s leading poker tournament grinders, helped himself to $9,676 after busting in third.

Both of the heads-up players were now guaranteed a five-figure sum for their impressive deep runs. They secured prizes in excess of $12,600, leaving the ample final bounties to play for.

After an intense one-on-one battle, Brazilian Eduardo Custodio came out on top, and they received a total prize tipping the scales at $21,936, leaving Malta’s Kevin Lebeda to console himself with a $14,091 consolation prize.
