Finnish high-stakes specialist Tomi Brouk, pictured here in black with Samuel Vousden, came out on top in the MILLIONS Online #07: 7-Max Championship and turned his $320 investment into $37,887, with bounties included.
The tournament drew in a stellar crowd of 886 entrants over a handful of starting flights, with 133 starters progressing to Day 2, where they locked in a min-cash for their efforts plus any bounties they accumulated along the way.
Dozens of elite-level players were present and correct on Day 2. They included Niklas Astedt, Preben Stokkan, four-time WSOP champion Michael Gathy, former MILLIONS Online Main Event winner Benjamin Chalot, and Team PartyPoker’s Patrick Leonard, whose deep run ended in an 18th-place finish.
Final Table Reached
Including bounties, none of the seven finalists took home less than $3,808 for their impressive performances. That is the sum Brazil’s Murilo Milhomen collected when they bowed out in seventh place. Another Brazilian, Luciano Hollanda, joined his fellow countryman on the rail in sixth place and saw $5,194 land in his PartyPoker account.
Fifth place and $5,994 went to Hungarian grinder Marton Czuczor, a supremely talented individual who would have made a worthy champion.
Then came the untimely demise of Albert Cigliano in fourth, a finish good for $7,857, then British star Charlie Combes in third. Combes has over $8.7 million in online poker tournament earnings, which he boosted with $13,157 here.
Heads-up saw Brouk lock horns with Estonia’s Juan Vecino, two incredible players that have tangled with one another many times during their long and illustrious careers. Both players guaranteed themselves more than $17,600 from the main prize pool before fighting it out for the final bounties that tipped the scales at five figures.
Eventually, Brouk came out on top and added $20,224 worth of scalps to his prize for a total take-home pay of $37,887. Vecino had to make do with a $22,188 consolation prize.
