William Barbosa of Brazil is the first MILLIONS Online KO champion of the current series after he outlasted 912 opponents in the $162 buy-in $125,000 guaranteed Opener. The impressive victory came with $17,225 in prize money, giving the Brazilian sensation a significant bankroll boost.

Plenty of big names were among the 136 PartyPoker players who were present and correct on Day 2 of the Opener. The likes of Jerry Odeen, WSOP bracelet winner Ben Dobson, Steven Van Zadelhoff, Fabian Gumz, Martin Mulsow, our very own Matthew Staples, and Joao Ferreira all cashed but came short of the final six spots.

All six finalists called Brazil or Austria home. Austria’s Gilles Simon busted in sixth for $4,182 before Brazil’s Breno Avelino crashed out and collected the $4,007 fifth-place prize.

The next three casualties were all Austrians: Johan Schulz-Pedersen, Soenke Jahn, and runner-up Tomas Patka fell by the wayside one after another. They saw prizes of $4,695, $8,433, and $9,568 hit their PartyPoker account.

The night and tournament belonged to Barbosa of Brazil, our first champion of the series. Can he build on this early success and become a double MILLIONS Online champion, or will you stop him from achieving that goal?

Rodriguez Forges Early Main Event Lead

The first $1 million guaranteed MILLIONS Online KO Main Event flight is in the bag, and it saw 162 PartyPoker players take to the virtual felt. Only 24 of those hopefuls made it through to Day 2 at the first time of asking, and nobody bagged up more chips than Matthieu Rodriguez, who is now armed with 17,288,711 chips in addition to $2,125 worth of bounties.

Only three other players finished Day 1A of the $1,050 buy-in Main Event with an eight-figure stack. Patrick Lauber (15,096,234), Alessandro Sarro (11,193,442), and Pedro Madeira (10,232,430) are that deep-stacked trio.

We have to give a special mention to another three players, PartyPoker grinders who won their MILLIONS Online KO Main Event seat via the value-packed Mega Sat. Daniel Brunnmayr (3,700,785), Mathew Cranshaw (3,369,260), and Rostislav Krhenek (1,776,664) are now through to Day 2, having captured $1,050 seat for a fraction of their cost in our MILLIONS Online KO Main Event Mega Satellite.

You can follow in their footsteps by qualifying for this weekend’s mega satellite, doing so from as little as a single cent! Head to the PartyPoker tournament lobby where you will find all the amazing satellites under the MILLIONS tab.

Other MILLIONS Online KO Results

It is not only the Opener that has crowned its champion but almost a dozen other MILLIONS Online KO events. We had our eyes on #09 8-Max, a $530 buy-in tournament that drew in 103 entrants. Two members of Team PartyPoker navigated their way to the final table. However, both fell short.

Patrick Leonard bowed out in ninth, but Jaime Staples made it to heads-up, where he, unfortunately, lost to the Spanish legend that is Adrian Mateos.
