A field of 192 players had gathered at the partypoker tables before late registration slammed shut, meaning $1 million in cold, hard cash was set to distributed among the top 24 finishers. A min-cash was worth $13,300 with a final table appearance boosting this sum to $27,500 while the eventual champion was set to bank more than $200,000.
“M1ndBl0w” was the first player to bust inside the money, falling in 24th place. Several more players busted before Team partypoker’s Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao saw his tournament come to an abrupt end in 13th place, a finish worth $17,200 to our Brazilian superstar.
High stakes regular “RosenheimCops” burst the final table bubble when they fell in ninth-place for $20,000 and the race for the Big Game freezeout title was well and truly on.
Eighth-place and $27,500 went to “luckywhale_nuts” who was joined as a spectator by “NikM123” and “Gingersrules” who scooped $35,000 and $45,000 respectively. Fifth-place went to the Swedish star “STORTjavlaGL” who turned their $5,200 investment into $58,000.
“AussieOsbourne” was the next casualty at the final table, crashing out in fourth-place for a cool $83,000. Heads-up was set when “donzledurbru” lost their stack to exit in third-place, becoming the first player in the tournament to net six-figures, namely $116,000.
This set up a heads-up battle between TIMEXCNT and “Iluvia71”, the latter having early took down a Christmas Freeze event for more than $40,000. The heads-up duo decided to strike a deal, one that saw Iluvia71 walk away with $184,511 and TIMEXCNT the title and a cool $195,788.
Big Game Returns in January
Another Big Game freezeout takes place this month and Phase 1 satellites are already up and running in the partypoker lobby These cost $109 to enter, although you can win your way into them from as little as $1.10, and feed into weekly finals where five $5,200 seats are added to the prize pool.
