The roster of players competing in the PartyPoker.com Premier League VI is now full after the 16th and final player paid his $125,000 entry fee!
Forty-eight year old Talal Shakerchi is one of Europe’s biggest hedge fund managers but when he isn’t in the office he loves to kick back and take on the big boys, and girls, at poker. Shakerchi has almost $900,000 in live tournament winnings, his biggest score to date topping the scales at €223,000 ($294,417) which he was awarded for winning a €10,000 buy-in 6-max High Roller at the 2012 EPT Grand Final.
Shakerchi says his decision to play the Premier League was because he wants to “play in the biggest games with the biggest pros” in order to challenge himself. He competed in The Big One for One Drop but didn’t cash, something he will be itching to do when the Premier League kicks off on Sunday 17 March.
