I’m currently here at the WPT Prague which is on Day 1c (read all the updates here), and I just thought you’d love to hear all about the WPT Copenhagen. Well even though Denmark in November can be both cold and dark, having a WPT in my hometown was like waking up as a kid and seeing circus tents in the public square.
Live Lobster in My House with Tony G!?
And sure enough, having Tony G burst through the doors of my house to take charge of the live lobster brigade was no different than having a juggler in the living room. I was thrilled to be able to welcome a gaggle of poker players into my home for a few snacks and drinks one evening after the close of play. The menu theme was Las Vegas dishes from the 1960’s, including Oysters Rockefeller courtesy of Kara Scott, and the Caesars Palace Lovesick Lobster from 1967, over which Tony G did a great imitation of a Lithuanian Julia Childs.
Plenty Of Action at Casino Copenhagen
There was plenty of action over at the Casino Copenhagen as well, with Jungleman taking part in a live stream cash game and a whole roster of European superstars in town for the WPT Main Event. I was glad to sit down with one of the hottest players on the tournament trail, Steve O’Dwyer, for a little chat.
Just Back From Macau
O’Dwyer had jetted in from Macau just in time to play WPT Copenhagen Day 1B and managed to make the final two tables while fighting the effects of a traveler’s flu. But that’s what O’Dwyer does. Airplanes, airports and hotel rooms are his life since Black Friday, along with over $1.5 million in European tournament earnings since that time. Steve O’Dwyer is making a living that almost no one else can, as a traveling tournament pro. And he’s still having the time of his life. Onwards and upwards to the next stop WPT Prague!
