The MILLIONS Online Main Event attracted 1,041 players to the partypoker tables, who created a guarantee-busting prize pool worth $5,205,000. Only nine of those starters remain in the hunt for what is an $859,018 top prize, and nobody has more chips than Canadian star Sebastian Sikorski.

Play resumes at 19:05 GMT on December 28 and continues until only one player has all the 1.04 billion chips in play. Sikorski leads but the chasing pack is brimming with talent.

Day 2 began with 156 players returning to their seats, each guaranteed $10,652 for their efforts. One by one the players fell by the wayside. British pro Ben Heath was one of the first casualties of the evening. The likes of Team partypoker’s Mikita Badziakouski, Jaime Staples, Joni Jouhkimainen, Yuri Dzivielevski, Patrick Leonard, and Matt Staples followed suit, the latter falling in 41st place.

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Mateos crashed out in tenth place, which set the official final table; Mateos collected $52,714 for his deep run.

MILLIONS Online Main Event Final Table

Place Player Country Chips
1 Sebastian Sikorski Canada 245,686,151
2 Ramiro Petrone Argentina 160,969,764
3 Steven Van Zadelhoff Malta 121,807,940
4 Andras Nemeth Hungary 105,769,317
5 Igor Dursel United Kingdom 91,095,288
6 Fabiano Luongo Canada 89,041,273
7 Juan Pardo Dominguez Andorra 83,330,651
8 Christopher Brice United Kingdom 81,597,033
9 Orpen Kisacikoglu United Kingdom 61,702,583

Sikorski has been ranked as high as number one in the world for online poker tournaments, so him sitting down at the final table as the chip leader makes him a substantial favourite for the $859,018 top prize. Sikorski’s 245,686,151 chips are worth almost 100 big blinds, meaning he is well in control going into the grand finale.

Ramiro Petrone

Ramiro Petrone

Second in chips at the restart, courtesy of his 160,969,764 stack, is Argentina’s Ramiro Petrone. Followers of online poker will possibly know Petrone better by his “ramastar88” alias. Petrone has more than $11 million in online poker tournament winnings, and is a major threat going into this final table.

Steven van Zadelhoff

Steven van Zadelhoff

Another former world number one sits down in third place. Steven van Zadelhoff has more than $11.5 million in online winnings and almost $2.5 million from the live arena. The popular Malta-based Dutchman returns with 121,807,940 chips in his arsenal and a legitimate shot at MILLIONS Online Main Event glory.

The player in fourth position is Andras Nemeth, the Hungarian superstar. Nemeth is the only other player returning with a nine-figure stack, namely 105,769,317 chips. It is less than nine months since Nemeth won a Poker Masters Online event for $259,628. Finishing fourth or better today sees Nemeth beat that impressive sum.

Igor Dursel has 91,095,288 chips at his disposal at the start of the final table, which puts him slap-bang in the middle of the returning pack, while Fabio Luongo sits down with 89,041,273. Luongo is the younger brother of Roberto Luongo, a former National Hockey League goaltender who played more than 1,000 games in hockey’s top league.

Juan Pardo Dominguez

Juan Pardo Dominguez

The man in seventh-place when the cards are back in the air is Andorra-based Spaniard Juan Pardo Dominguez. The talented Spaniard has 83,330,651 chips in his stack, so has a bit of work to do if he is to defy the odds and become the latest MILLIONS Online Main Event champion. Dominguez has almost $3.9 million in live poker winnings and many more millions online. Do not write off his chances despite his lowly starting position at this star-studded final table.

British grinder Christopher Brice is one of the shorter stacks courtesy of his 81,597,033 stack. Brice finished 23rd in the MILLIONS Online Main Event in February and banked $35,084. He is now guaranteed almost double that sum regardless of where he finishes. Three years ago, Brice won the partypoker UK Poker Championships at Dusk Till Dawn, turning his £1,100 into an impressive £187,500.

Orpen Kisacikoglu

Orpen Kisacikoglu

Bringing up the rear is Turkish star Orpen Kisacikoglu, a player better known on the live circuit where he has amassed $6 million in winnings. Kisacikogly finished second in the 2019 edition of the $50,000 high roller at the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party for $550,000. What he would give for another score of a similar size.
