The partypoker relaunch of our live events is off to a rocking start in Bratislava. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and, of course, there has been plenty of exciting poker action the first two days of the partypoker Grand Prix Bratislava.
The partypoker Grand Prix teamed up with the Bratislava Poker Festival and the Irish Poker Tour for six thrilling days of poker action at one of the largest casinos in Europe at Card Casino Bratislava on July 18-23.
The crown jewel of the festival in the €500,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Bratislava €550 Main Event kicked off in style on Wednesday. Many of the 45 partypoker online qualifiers were among the 103 entries on Day 1a with others planning to hop into the action on Thursday’s Day 1b.
Local Slovakian Tabriz Pedram Sarayedarzadeh was the star of Day 1a after catapulting his 40,000 opening stack into a Day 1a chip leading stack of 428,000 for Saturday’s Day 2. Jovan Nikolic (356,000), Richard Laki (351,500), Edoardo Mancinelli (273,000), and Daniel Koloszar (261,000) joined Sarayedarzadeh in the top five on the Day 1a leaderboard.
The Main Event continues on Thursday with two more opening flights. The surviving players from all of the opening flights will combine into a single field on Saturday, July 22 for Day 2 with a winner scheduled to be crowned on Sunday, July 23.
Meanwhile, the €400 Mystery Bounty crushed its €50,000 guarantee with Wednesday’s Day 1b attracting another 189 entries to grow the field to 272 entries for a €95,472 prize pool. Expect plenty of excitement with the 56 Day 2 survivors earning a chance to snag an envelope containing a mystery bounty prize for each player they eliminate with two lucky players snagging the top €5,000 mystery bounty prize. Of course, there is also plenty to play for in the prize pool with a €13,200 top prize on the line for the trophy winner. Day 1b chip leader David Safrany began the final day with the largest stack of 440,000 followed by Day 1a chip leader Angelos Valiles with 422,000.
Additionally, the second trophy winner was crowned on Wednesday with the very affordable €150 NLH Freezeout ending in a five-way deal with Giorgi Barabadze officially winning the event for €1,505 with Barnabas Nagy, Michael Corcoran, Aleksey Baranovskiy, and Manfred Gonda each earning €1,450.
