The partypoker Grand Prix joined forces with the Bratislava Poker Festival powered by the Irish Poker Tour for six action-packed days of poker tournaments and cash games at one of the largest casinos in Europe at Card Casino Bratislava on July 18-23.
Arkadiusz Liszewski hoisted a coveted trophy on Thursday after defeating Romania’s Paul Covaciu heads-up to win the €400 Mystery Bounty for €13,200. This is not all as he also eliminated six players to collect €4,300 in bounties to bring his total haul up to €17,500.
Meanwhile, Covaciu not only won the runner-up prize of €8,250 but also won one of the two top €5,000 mystery bounty prizes making it a day for him to remember as well despite falling one player shy of the trophy.
Nikolaos Zacharakis also had something to celebrate as he won the other top mystery bounty prize of €5,000 while also ending the event on the podium with a third-place finish for €5,500.
The event itself was a massive success with 272 entries creating a €95,472 prize pool to blow past the €50,000 guarantee with tons of excitement every time a mystery bounty envelope was pulled.
Meanwhile, the partypoker Grand Prix €550 Main Event is well on its way to meeting its lofty €500,000 guarantee with 488 entries during the first three opening flights. We expect even bigger turnouts on Friday and Saturday for the final three opening flights with many players coming in for the weekend to join the 65 partypoker qualifiers hunting for the trophy and what promises to be a massive top prize.
Day 1b chip leader Stanislav Tomov leads the way after transforming his 40,000 opening stack into a huge pile of 785,000 in chips with Day 1c chip leader Kristian Saethre (675,000), Jasper van der Veen (600,500), Day 1a chip leader Tabriz Pedram Sarayedarzadeh (428,000), and Thomas Werdenich (389,000) rounding out the top five.
In other news, the €2,500 Omaha Euro Championship grew into one of the largest-ever Omaha tournaments in European poker history with 46 entries generating a tasty €107,640 prize pool to smash the €100,000 guarantee. There were just 10 players remaining to start the day with the Irish Poker Festival founder Fintan Gavin among the players to watch.
Meanwhile, the host of last night’s nosebleed €50/€50/€100 pot-limit Omaha live-streamed cash game bonanza Patrik “TheHammerCrusher” Jaros max late-registered this event and has a massive stack to start the day.
