Being a woman in poker is hard – a lot of women have to prove themselves twice as much because they do not get any respect even though they show great results.

The girl I met up with last night at PartyPoker’s World Open had much more than great results behind her – she had the respect of her colleagues and an amazingly big heart.

I have only seen Sandra Naujoks on few occasions during the WSOP and European events and could never miss her piercing blue eyes and feel a bit intimidated.

After reading a bit more on her and speaking to her, I was very impressed. And Dan Fleyshman will confirm it’s hard to impress this cookie!

All In 4 Kids

I’m not going to blab about her poker winnings, all of you know very well who she is, but I took her aside and asked her more about the charity All In 4 Kids that she started a while ago.

‘My last occasion when I cried was in February. I was standing in the Cambodian killing fields thinking about all the lives that were taken there. I went to Cambodia because I support a schooling project there. This summer we are building a new school for 500 children.’ – said Sandra Naujoks in an interview with the WPT magazine recently. She decided to invite poker players to donate money from their winnings and give them to the All In 4 Kids organisation she started to help kids in Cambodia.

Being big hearted, a lot of players decided to take part and Sandra Naujoks will now take some time off to go to Cambodia to supervise the building after the rain season is done. Maybe it’s because the girls are multi-taskers or boys don’t have time, it is amazing that she finds time for everything and really enjoys what she does. I hope more and more players join this cause.
