The latest edition of the $1 million guaranteed Big Game took place on Sunday 24th February and what a fantastic freezeout tournament it was.
A field of 196-players descended on partypoker while late registration was open, all hoping to navigate their way into the top 32 finishing positions so they could turn their $5,200 investment into at least $10,400.
Mexico’s “TJXOLOSFAN1” was the unfortunate soul to burst the money bubble, falling in 33rd place to be the last player to exit the tournament empty-handed. Their exit paved the way to riches with the likes of “Chelsea72”, “rudiqa1”, and “JonasLuck_” all cashing in this huge event.
Team partypoker’s Dzmitry “Dzmitry_Urbanov” Urbanovich was the player to burst the final table bubble, his ninth-place finish securing a $17,800 payout.
The eight finalists were guaranteed $23,000 for their effort and it was one of three British payers at the final table who banked this sum. Tom “Fugilee” Simm busted in eighth-place with his fellow Brits busting in seventh and fourth-place.
Seventh-place went to “LintyontheLash” who secured a $31,000 prize with “FMylife” seeing their tournament end in fourth-place for $78,000.
The top three finishers each walked away with a six-figure prize. Roman “SanityWaterline” Romanovskiy from Ukraine locked up a massive $105,500 prize for their third-place finish, which left “drakeonne” of Brazil and “RPILON” of Canada to battle one-on-one for the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool.
There was no deal struck despite a near $56,000 difference between first and second-place, meaning when drakeonne busted in second-place, they won $148,000 and the champion, RPILON, had turned their $5,200 into a gargantuan $203,900
