Team partypoker’s Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello may be better known for this proficiency in no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha games, but on January 25th he showed he can mix it up with the best in seven-card stud.
Romanello topped a field of 50 entrants in the $25,000 guaranteed stud event to get his hands on $8,750 and become the second Team partypoker player to become a POWERFEST champion this series after Joao Simao.

“bossamtisch1” secured the largest payout of Day 5, banking a cool $40,780 after topping a field of 200 entrants in the POWERFEST #15-H: $150K Gtd NL Hold’em event.
Everyone at the final table was guaranteed $4,600 and this is the sum “watten01” took home for his eighth-place finish. The prize money had increased to five-figures after “x_zola25” and “jokero19891” bust and by the time it was heads-up, the final duo were battling for $40,780.
It was “bossamtisch1” who emerged victorious, defeating online veteran “rdcrsnn” heads-up to resign the runner-up to a still welcomed $29,600 prize.

The POWERFEST #14-H: $100K Gtd 1R1A NL Hold’em event had a start-studded final table where any of the eight players would have made a worthy champion. Two of the finalists, “HeavenlyFather” and “Drulitooo” had already won POWERFEST events. They couldn’t add a second though as they bust in sixth and fifth place for $6,562 and $8,125.
“chazcombes,” a telented British grinder, saw his tournament end in fourth-place and he was the first player to lock up a five-figure prize, namely $11,562. “Doyle_B” fell in third to leave another British pro, “Liftededge,” to take on “SLARVBOGMAJS” for the title.
It was the latter who secured the win ans the $31,250, which happened to be the second-largest cash of the night at partypoker.

POWERFEST Events on January 26th
Nine more POWERFEST events take place on Friday 26th January and we are expecting some large fields in them.
At 12:00 ET / 17:00 GMT / 18:00 CET there are three NL Hold’em 6-Max events costing $22, $215 and $2,100 to enter. These have combined guarantees of $370,000. Two hours later, three 6-Max turbo pot limit Omaha tournaments, with combined guaranteed prize pools of $75,000. Buy in for $5.50, $55 and $530.
The final events of the day are turbo NLHE tournaments. Get involved in the $11 buy-in ($10,000 Gtd), $109 buy-in ($50,000 Gtd) or the $1,050 buy-in ($100,000 Gtd).
