The partypoker $5 million guaranteed Monster Series continued on October 29 with the ninth day of intense poker tournament action, and what a day it was.
Some of the big guaranteed events missed their guarantees so partypoker delved into its pockets and added plenty of cash to the prize pool to ensure the full guarantees were paid out, going some way to show that partypoker has the best value tournaments anywhere online.
One of the bigger events was the Monster-52-Mid-Stakes: $80K Gtd Turbo, a $50+$5 buy-in tournament that saw 1,317 entries. The mathematicians among you will no doubt have worked out that this event overlaid by almost $15,000; amazing value we’re sure you’ll agree.
The top 168 finishers received at least $152 for the efforts and one of our own almost went all the way. partypoker Ambassador Patrick Leonard fell in ninth-place for a $760 score, bursting the final table bubble.
Leonard’s exit meant everyone with chips in front of them was guaranteed at least $984 but with $13,576 up top, nobody wanted to collect that sum. “serenita94” bust in eighth-place and was followed to the sidelines by “student407,” “BigOrangeArts,” “pokerme2016,” “PL0TTWIST,” “peledazmogis,” and finally “Marychips2,” the latter being the runner-up for $9,680. Hats off to “Getuponmylevel” who became a Monster Series champion and recipient of $13,576.

Another of the bigger events was the Monster-48-Mid-Stakes: $100K Gtd 6-Max which saw 3,882 players smash the guarantee by $16,460. Scooping the lion’s share of the prize pool was “meninoSauce” who banked $13,026 after defeating “KKos89” heads-up for the title; KKos89 walked away with a healthy $12,915 due to the final two players striking a deal for the remaining prize pool.

Four huge events saw the first of two Day 1s take place, four events with combined guarantees of $1.8 million. Day 1a of the Monster-49-Mid-Stakes: $1M Gtd Main Event saw 2,370 players exchange $215 for the chance to win a share of a million dollars, while the $22 buy-in Micro edition of the same tournament attracted 5,448 players.
The Monster-46-Mid-Stakes: $400K Gtd Main Event Warm-Up cost $109 to enter and saw 2,005 players take to the virtual felt, while the $11 buy-in micro edition with $100K Gtd saw 2,784 players buy in.
Day 1b of these tournaments, the final day to buy in, kicks off at 15:00 ET / 19:00 GMT and if we’re honest, it is going to take a miracle to get near these guarantees, especially the micro stakes editions of the Main Event and Main Event Warm-Up as they need around 8,000 and 10,000 players to turn out on Day 10. Head to partypoker now and help yourself to the amazing value on offer at the Monster Series.
