partypoker to sponsor WSOPC Uruguay in December

partypoker is partnering with the World Series of Poker for the second time, providing exclusive online satellites for the upcoming WSOPC Uruguay Main Event at Enjoy Casino in beautiful Punta del Este. Satellites are starting this Sunday on partypoker (September 17th) giving players the chance to win a $2,000 WSOP Uruguay package for as little as $1.10.

WSOPC Uruguay, sponsored by partypoker LIVE, will be taking place December 7th to 17th in the stunning resort of Punta del Este on Uruguay’s idyllic southern coast. This will be partypoker’s first live event in Uruguay – but Punta del Este has long been a poker hotspot in Latin America with players from all over the world competing there.

Located on a sun-drenched peninsula on Uruguay’s southern coast, Punta del Este is a luxury resort which has been luring South America’s rich and famous for decades. Known as the “St Tropez of South America”, the city is easily reached from the Uruguay capital of Montevideo, and is just a short flight away from Buenos Aires in Argentina. December is the perfect time of year to visit Punta del Este with 11 hours of sunshine a day – and average temperatures of 21°C (70°F).

Last year’s WSOP Uruguay Main Event attracted 697 entries and was won by Uruguay’s top live tournament player Fabrizio Gonzalez for $125,157. In total, more than $3.4 million was awarded in prize money during the festival with 2,500 unique players taking part across 30 events. This year’s festival includes even more tournaments: as well as the $1,500 WSOP Uruguay Main Event (which has three start flights), the packed schedule includes the $2,500 “Final Millonaria” which comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million.

There are over 34 tournaments including a the $1,500 Main Event, a $5,000 High Roller, a $2,500 Millionaire Final, a $300 Deep Stack edition of the Main Event, a $300 Omaha Hi-Low tournament, a $400 Omaha Dealer’s Choice event and a Knockout Bounty. A highlight event to close the festival on December 17th is the $500 NLH partypoker Diamond event where players can be crowned the first partypoker Diamond champion of Uruguay.

partypoker will be running many online satellites for WSOP Uruguay with chances to win a $2,000 package starting at just $1.10. The $2,000 prize package comprises the $1,500 buy in plus $500 spending money.

The first WSOP Uruguay qualifier runs this Sunday on partypoker with weekly mega satellites running on Mondays and Thursdays with 5 packages guaranteed on both nights. Check out the full satellite schedule below.

Among those set to compete at Punta del Este are partypoker sponsored pro Richard Dubini from Argentina, and Brazilian partypoker Ambassadors Bruno Gagliasso and Joao Simao.
