Over $15 million guaranteed across 147 tournaments; satellites start Boxing Day
partypoker is gearing up for a super-exciting POWERFEST series early next year with a revamped structure designed to thrill all players, whatever their bankroll. The new-look festival will offer new poker variants and optimised structures. Despite offering an overall festival guarantee that is lower than recent Powerfest’s, the average guarantee per tournament has increased compared with the September edition and will offer players an enhanced playing experience.
The first POWERFEST of 2018 will provide a gripping two weeks of poker action from 21st January to 4th February. Satellites will run from Boxing Day, 26th December and offer players multiple qualification paths into the tournaments.
The new-look series offers more than $15 million in guaranteed prize pools and three distinct buy-in categories for every event – Low, Mid and High. The festival gives players 17 tournaments at buy-ins of $5.50 or less with combined guarantees of over $145,000; there are 49 events with buy-ins of between $11 and $55 with cumulative guarantees of over $1,4000,000. Those with a bigger bankroll can pick from 81 tournaments that have buy-ins ranging between $109 and $5,200 and offer cumulative guarantees of $13,000,000, including 3 with huge $1 million guarantees.
The Series will feature a number of different formats, including No Limit Hold’em, Fixed Limit Hold’em, PLO, PLO8, 7 card stud and various Progressive Knock Out events. The Powerfest ladies events will run on Sunday 4th February with buy-ins of $2.20, $22 and $215, giving all ladies the chance to take home a share of a total of $35,000 in guaranteed prizepools.

partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard said: “I always plan my year around playing this online series. There is nothing better than knowing you can log on every day for weeks and play high stakes poker with really great structures for huge first place prizes. Previously I’d have to wait 5 or 9 months so the fact I can play POWERFEST after a couple of weeks is really exciting. Last year there was fantastic series at specific buy-in points with low stakes series (MONSTER) and high stakes (MILLIONS) being really popular but this time everybody will be able to play at the same time but for a pricepoint that is comfortable for them. I’m really looking forward to grinding the new events on the schedule this year including the big Tuesday tournaments and the extra 6max tournaments. Good luck everybody!”
