After the fun and games from Friday nights party, there were a few sore heads in the breakfast room on Saturday. Some of the players ended up in the Sky Bar which had an excellent rooftop terrace where you could get a great view of Los Angeles while sipping a cool beer or mojito.
Other players had plenty of success on the cash tables with many of them saying how soft the tables were. Over breakfast, a plan was hatched to show the a few of the players a little bit of LA today, in particular the famous areas of Hollywood Boulevard and Beverley Hills.
We started by walking around on Hollywood Boulevard and saw the famous Hollywood stars on the pavements. The cameras were out as everyone took snaps of their favourite movie stars.
The Michael Jackson star had the biggest crowd around it as people laid flowers and took lots of pictures. We rented a guided open top mini-bus tour and took in the sights some more of the sights. Everyone wanted to see the famous Hollywood sign up in the hills above the city. That was the first stop on the tour.
We also got to see just how big the Los Angeles area is. It is huge and spread out below us for miles. We carried on through Beverley Hills and saw houses belonging to famous celebrities such as Halle Berry, Sean Connery, Larry King and Simon Cowell’s brand new house. Some of the people on the tour were convinced they saw Jack Nicholson in his car.
While stopping for refreshments we met Diana Ross’ son who is a big acting star in the US. We also drove past many places used as film locations for films such as Pretty Woman, Beverley Hills Cop and Ocean’s Twelve. All around this part of town the rich and the beautiful people were enjoying a sunny Saturday afternoon as they sat in expensive café’s or shopped in exclusive stores on Rodeo Drive.
One store even charges customers $1500 just to walk in and make an appointment to have a suit made. I have never seen so many Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s in one day. The tour was a lot of fun and everyone was busy snapping pictures of anything and everything. We even saw Jesus walking down the street.
Someone said they saw Elvis working in McDonalds but that might have been a joke. I know for a fact he prefers Burger King!!
