Monster Series III kicked off on Sunday 29th July and what an opening day it was. Some 21 champions were crowned and an incredible $437,360 awarded to those players who navigated their way into the money places of those events. Let’s take a look at three of the biggest Monster Series events on Day 1.

Monster #03-High: $100K Gtd

A fantastic turnout of 3,625 players in the Monster #03-High: $100K Gtd ensured that the guaranteed was met and a prize pool of $108,750 was up for grabs. This monster-sized sum was shared among the top 472 finishers, with the first-place prize weighing in at $16,808.
This is the prize awarded to “galinaho” who triumphed in the biggest Monster Series event of the day, a victory that took a shade over 10 hours to complete.
“Vershina” was the final table’s first casualty, crashing out in eighth-place for $1,053; the first player to walk away with a four-figure score. They were followed to the rail by “rider200707”, “NorotiousGIB” and “treilly98”.
Those who reached the final four places were guaranteed almost $5,000, an excellent return on a $33 investment. “MadduxSports33” fell in third-place and secured $4,959 with “Louise Smarch” banking $7,569 for their third-place finish.
galinhao and “najden” then locked horns heads up for the title. There was a $5,000 pay jump from second to first, but no deal was had despite this. galinaho eventually sent najden to the rail to get their hands on $16,808 and leave the runner-up to collect $11,777.

Monster #02-High: $50K Gtd 6-Max

The first six-handed event of the Monster Series III saw its $50,000 guarantee smashed when 2,277 players exchanged $27.50 for the chance of becoming a partypoker champion, creating a $56,925 prize pool as a result.
A total of 336 places were paid, but the big money was reserved for those navigating their way to the six-handed final table. Each of these finalists was guaranteed $1,084 with the champion scooping almost seven-times that.
“unicom61” saw their tournament end in a sixth-place finish with “CADNCT” joining them on the sidelines in fifth-place, a finish worth $2,035. A cool $3,111 was awarded to “lildani9” who fell in fourth-place while “sluuuurp” netted themselves a $4,306 score when they exited in third-place.
A heads-up battle between “GTOisforkids” and “NEMFODENDO” ensued and it was a battle that the latter emerged from unscathed. GTOisforkids walked away with the $5,576 consolation prize with the champion turning their $27.50 into $7,257.

Monster #05-High: $25K Gtd Fast

Another bumper crowd turned out for the Monster #05-High: $25K Gtd, namely 1,305 players who created a guarantee-beating prize pool of $39,150 that was shared among the top 168 finishers.
The lion’s share of this princely sum is now in the partypoker account of “BlackBalu” who emerged victorious after 7.5 hours of intense poker action. Their reward for this impressive victory was a cool $6,644.
Six of the eight players who reached the final table netted at least $1,033 for their effort while the runner-up, the player known as “MAXIMUM_PAIN”, turned their $33 investment into a $4,737 consolation prize.

Monster Series III: Schedule for Day 2
Another 21 Monster Series events are scheduled for Day 2 of the festival on Monday 30th July. They kick off at regular interval from 15:00 CET through to 01:00 CET and have combined guaranteed prize pool worth a cool $205,000.
There is a great mix of different formats to choose from, although two events in particular look incredible value. Look out for Monster #09-High: $30K Gtd 6-Max PKO at 17:00 CET costing $27.50 to enter and the Monster #10-High: $50K Gtd at 19:00 CET that costs $33 to buy into.

Monster Series III Promotions
