So far in the last two parts of this series Mike has given us a few insights into some of the most fascinating poker players about today. Now in part three Mike Sexton lets us know his thoughts on the Premier League V and poker legends Sam Trickett, Daniel Cates and Patrik Antonius.
Sam Trickett – This is the guy that I’ve rated the #1 NL Hold’em player in the world over the past year. I am so impressed with how this guy plays. His timing and ‘feel’ for the game is just incredible. Even against this stellar field, I make Trickett the top seed in the Premier League.
Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates – He may be the biggest online success on the planet and is now transitioning to ‘live’ poker. Everyone who plays high stakes poker knows this guy as he challenges anyone for ultra sky high stakes. No other than Phil Ivey says, “Jungleman may be the best of the best”. He’ll get a chance to prove it in the Premier League and the Big Game.
Patrik Antonius – Don’t let the model looks fool you. This guy is deadly at the table. His success in the high stakes cash games is incredible. He’s played the “best of the best” for a number of years, and has continued to rack up big scores. He may be in the best shape of any poker player (although Gus Hansen may dispute that) but they won’t be playing tennis in the Premier League. Let’s see if Patrik can ‘serve up’ a victory there.
And that’s part three of this four part series, make sure you come back for our final part tomorrow when Mike gives us his thoughts on Vanessa Selbst, Yevgeniy Timoshenko Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Scott Seiver. What’s your thoughts so far on the line up let us know below…
