The Odd Couple?
For all his success in the poker world the Party Poker Premier League VI will see Marvin Rettenmaier make his debut in the Premier League VI. And the German with typically beaming smile can’t wait. It’s in his own back yard too as he just relocated to London. But which of the Premier League players would he least like to have as a housemate? “I think Jonathan Duhamel would probably be the worst, but I’d quite like to live with Phil Laak. He might be the maddest player in the Premier League apart from me.”
Shot To Stardom
It’s been a meteoric rise for the Team PartyPoker.com Pro, he claims he doesn’t have a secret but says. “I think I play my A-game more often than other players, but I guess there’s a little bit of Phil Hellmuth’s white magic in there too!”
Don’t Overdo It
Known for making aggressive and outrageous plays he doesn’t think that newcomers should copy him. “I don’t think you should overdo it. You see a lot of guys trying to make big bluffs and show them as their number one goal, that shouldn’t be the case.”
But despite that he says, “It’s really fun if you can show one and put someone on tilt, but my favorite part of the game is winning and it’s the feeling I get when I win that keeps me motivated.”
And he can’t wait for the Premier League to start. “I really like the format, there’s a great line-up, it’s tough and a great challenge. I’m looking forward to playing against Scott Seiver and if I could choose one to put a bad beat on it’d be him as he’s got me a couple of times.
So you can add motivated and hungry for success to that check list, be afraid, be very afraid.
With the Premier League VI being streamed live you’ll be able to see if he can add another feather to his poker cap.
