Team partypoker’s Ludovic Geilich narrowly missed out on Poker Masters glory on April 17 but did have $81,600 reasons to be happy with his performance.
Poker Masters #13: $500K Gtd NLHE 6-Max
The 13th event of the massive Poker Masters online series was a $10,300 buy-in six-handed no-limit hold’em tournament with $500,000 guaranteed. Sixty-eight players piled into the competition and created a $680,000 prize pool that was shared among the top nine finishers.
Stephen “O’Dwyer was the first player to get his hands on some cash, namely $24,727. The likes of Alexandros Kolonias, and Lukas Nowakowski joined him on the rail, the latter bursting the final table bubble.
What a final table it was with any of the six players reaching it being a superstar.
Mike Watson, fresh from his victory earlier in the week, fell in sixth and secured a $30,600 prize. He was joined on the sidelines by Alex Foxen whose fifth-place exit saw him add $44,200 to his ever-growing lifetime winnings.
Then Kahle Burns busted in fourth. Burns won a Poker Masters event on April 16 but had to make do with the $61,200 fourth-place prize this time around.
Our very own Ludovic Geilich was going great guns until his world came crashing down to bust in third place. This impress run saw Geilich pad his partypoker bankroll with $81,600.
Timothy Adams and Netherlands’ Luuk Gieles were the last remaining players after Geilich’s exit. It was the Dutchman who came out of the final battle unscathed and with $235,217 in prize money. Adams took home the $153,000 runner-up prize.
Poker Masters #12: $500K Gtd PLO 6-Max
The field of the $10,300 Poker Masters #12: $500K Gtd PLO 6-Max read like a who’s who of poker and it was Hungary’s Bujtas Laszlo who was the star who emerged from the battle victoriously.
The Hungarian saw off a talented bunch of players among the 87 entrants to turn his $10,300 in a cool $272,141. Laszlo defeated Ami Barer heads-up for the title, which resigned the Canadian to a $169,650 consolation prize.
Norway’s Andreas Torbergsen was the first of the six finalists to collect some prize money. He netted $36,975 after his tournament ended in sixth place. Fifth-place and $54,375 went to Sweden’s Bengt Sonnert before Jorryt Van Hoof kept up his impressive form with a fourth-place finish worth $76m125.
Malta’s Carlo Van Ravensoud was the third-place finish. This saw $104,400 make its way to his partypoker account.
