Joni Jouhkimainen, one of Finland’s top poker players, has joined partypoker as a sponsored pro. Jouhkimainen, who has been travelling the live poker circuit since he was 18, joins an illustrious roster of players representing partypoker both live and online.
Jouhkimainen is still only 26 but already has close to $2.5 million in live tournament winnings. He made a huge impression on the live poker circuit right from the start, kicking off his live poker career with a sixth place finish in Italy for €20,000 – just six months after his 18th birthday.
His biggest live scores have come in Europe including a fourth place in the recent partypoker LIVE Nordic Poker Championships in Prague for €70,000. He also had a terrific summer with three tournament victories in a row in his home city of Helsinki earning him more than €100,000 in prize money. His biggest cash was when he was only 21 for more than €400,000.
In the last couple of years, Jouhkimainen has been focusing on playing Pot Limit Omaha and he is also looking forward to playing numerous partypoker LIVE events, including the partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona. He has previously described his playing style as “typically Finnish” combining a mathematical approach with opponent exploitation.
