The $2.2 million guaranteed Grand Prix KO series is building up pace and the action is only going to get hotter when the Mini Main Event and Main Event kick off on July 25. Three events, the Mini 6-Max, 6-Max, and High Roller, are in full swing. Let’s take a look at what is going on there.

Grand Prix KO #01 Mini 6-Max Top 10 Chip Counts

Some 5,361 players have bought into the $5.50 Mini 6-Max event, and only 772 of those starters have progressed to Day 2, which runs from 20:05 BST on July 26. $50,000 is guaranteed to be won by the time the champion is crowned, meaning more than half of the prize pool has been accumulated with a dozen or so Day 1s remaining.

Germany’s Torsten Schluck finds himself at the top of the overall chip counts right now courtesy of his 2,666,887 stack. Schluck has bagged himself $10.62 worth of bounty payments, meaning he is already showing a profit regardless of where he ultimately finishes.

Five other Mini 6-Max players have more than two million chips at their disposal.

Michael Ekwan of Belgium (2,492,345), Lewis Kershaw from the United Kingdom (2,135,569), Roman Shepel of Ukraine (2,119,645), the chip leader’s fellow German Dominic Knehr (2,110,847), and Canada-based grinder Kostyatyn Kulykov (2,069,468) being that quintet.

Grand Prix KO #02 6-Max Top 10 Chip Counts

More than a dozen Day 1s for the $55 buy-in 6-Max event remain, so we are on course to hit the impressive $250,000 guarantee. The completed Day 1s so far have seen the 2,737 starters whittled to a more manageable 408, and nobody has more chips than Max Wilson Ramos Filho.

Filho, who calls Brazil home, has been busy helping himself to his opponents’ chips, and has done a pretty good job of that so far, as is evident by his 2,083,352 stack. That colossal sum is the only chip stack in excess of two million; Filho also has $115.62 worth of bounties gathered already.

We have to give a special mention to Morten Hvam who currently occupies sixth-place with 1,817,143 chips, and $43.75 worth of bounties. Hvam is also in the top 10 of the $530 High Roller, which we will speak about now.

Grand Prix KO #03 High Roller Top 10 Chip Counts

Only 57 of the 382 partypoker players who have entered the $530 High Roller are safely through to Day 2. Several more flights remain, giving you the chance to catch Jhony Fonseca at the summit of the chip counts.

Brazilian Fonseca has 1,848,353 chips in his stack, and $1,125in bounties already tucked away in his partypoker account. Early chip leader, Tomi Brouk, relinquished the lead, but he is still positioned second in chips as the remaining Day 1s dwindle.

Check out eighth place right now, which belongs to Morten Hvam. The Dane has banked $781.25 in bounty payments, and returns to the Day 2 action with 1,190,492. Hvam will battle away in the $55 6-max event at the same time!
