The latest edition of the ever-popular Powerfest series is right around the corner with the first of 330 scheduled events shuffling up and dealing at partypoker on September 3.

By the time the 330th and final Powerfest event crowns its champion, at least $35 million will have been awarded to those skilful and lucky enough to navigate their way through to the money places of those events. There is a good chance that much more prize money will be paid out because when the $20 million guaranteed Powerfest in May, a staggering $27,012,812 was distributed among the 65,698 players who cashed in an event.

Although no-limit hold’em tournament make up the bulk of the 330 events, there are a total of 12 pot-limit Omaha freezeouts on the schedule. Half of these events have a $22 buy-in, the other half command a $109 buy-in, and the combined guarantees weigh in at $180,000.

Those of you have have been scouring the schedule and planning what events to play will no doubt have stumbled across a new addition to Powerfest. On September 24, for the first time ever, partypoker is hosting a Powerfest Ladies event, which is only open to our female customers.

You may also be aware that there are 12 massive Championship Events on the Powerfest schedule, each with a guaranteed prize pool of at least $1 million. Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated of these Championship Events is the $25,500 buy-in Super High Roller and its $3 million guarantee.

When we ran this star-studded event at the previous Powerfest, 129 entries were processed and a $3,225,000 prize pool created. The champion that night was “juanpardo99” who collected a gargantuan $660,067 for his victory, while partypoker ambassadors Joao Simao and Sam Trickett fell in fifth and eighth-place for scores of $193,500 and $96,750.
