When partypoker headed to the Manchester United grounds for our Road To Old Trafford event we couldn’t resist put footballing legend Dwight Yorke right on the spot! We set him a challenge to see if that so called ‘magic touch’ of his was just as good off the pitch as it is on. So was as it a flop or did he hit the back of the net? You’ll just have to watch our spellbinding video to find out!

Our very own partypoker ambassador Kara Scott was there watching on as well known magician and card fiend Damien O’Brien amazed the crowd. Then it was time for the boys to master a trick of their own. However, it would seem that not all of the Old Trafford team managed to pull off the trick so easily!

Quinton Fortune managed to show off  a trick of his own – that’s right, how to make a ceiling panel disappear. Having failed to get to grips with the cards, Quinton seemed more comfortable with a ball at his feet – before literally bringing the roof and a part of the Old Trafford conference room celling down!

Nailed It!

Quinton Fortune told us “I didn’t have much luck with the cards or the ball today, but at least I proved why the football at Old Trafford is played on the pitch and not in the conference rooms. Fair play to Yorkie who nailed it eventually!”

Legendary weekend!

For one ex-professional footballer now turned poker pro, the weekend just couldn’t have been better. Sam Trickett who recently came 2nd in our Premier League VI tournament, got to meet some of his own legends ended up winning the tournament! After which he gave his winnings to Rio Ferdinand’s ‘Live the Dream’ Foundation Charity as a result.

For 27-year-old Sam, well known for his high stakes exploits, winning at United was clearly something dear to his heart. “I am really happy to win this event – I played for fun but I felt I really had to win at Old Trafford – I made it my mission!” said Sam. Then it was time for the  partypoker qualifiers to meet and greet the Manchester United squad:
