Some people are natural winners. They can seemingly turn their hand to any sport or game and dominate proceedings. Alex Foxen is one of those lucky people.

Foxen is a naturally competitive person. He starred for the Boston College Eagles American football team where he won honours as a tight end / defensive tackle, and represented his school’s ice hockey and lacrosse teams. Now he’s one of poker’s elite grinders, one with more than $16.8 million in live winnings and more than $6 million online. Oh, and he’s the reigning Global Poker Index Player of the Year!

On June 23, Foxen added to his already glowing reputation by securing two High Roller Club titles. It’s the Fox(en) that does the hunting these days.

High Roller Club: Man Event – $250K Gtd

Foxen’s first victory came in the $5,200 buy-in Main Event, a tournament that drew in a crowd of 49 entrants. Only seven of those walked away with a share of the $250,000 prize pool and it was Foxen who banked the largest prize.

Pascal Lefrancois, a regular in the High Roller Club events, reached the final table but fell in eighth-place to burst the money bubble. The Canadian’s demise locked up at least $10,625 for the surviving players.

Zachary Clark netted this sum before Juan Pardo and Jans Arends busted and walked away with $12,500 and $16,250 respectively.

Another Canadian, Mark Radoja, then fell by the wayside. Radoja’s impressive run earning him a $24,375 prize. Recent big winner Tuen Mulder came close to another major victory but ultimately had to make do with a third-place finish worth $38,125. The Dutch star’s exit left Foxen heads-up against Finland’s Eelis Parssinen for the title.

The one-on-one battle was impressive – you can watch the video on our Twitch channel – and ended with the following hand. Foxen limped on the button with , Parssinen raised to 2,450,000 with . Foxen responded with an all-in jam of 24,500,000 and Parssinen called off his remaining 16 million and change. A board saw Foxen’s kicker come into play, game over for Parssinen.

This latest victory added $88,750 to the Foxen coffers. No doubt he’ll be taking down more High Roller Club tournaments before the series is over.

High Roller Club: 6-Max Knockout – $50K Gtd

Victory number two came in the $1,050 6-Max Knockout, a tournament with 45 entrants and a $50,000 prize pool. Foxen locked up the $8,225 top prize and increases his payout with $8,898 worth of bounty payments. Part of that chunky bounty was formerly on the head of Corne Scheel, the man who finished in second-place.

Earlier, Foxen’s girlfriend and member of Team partypoker Kristen Bicknell burst the final table and money bubble. Bicknell didn’t go home empty-handed, however, because she helped herself to $875 from the bounty prize pool.

Wietse Hasper was the first player to cash at the final table. British star Tyler Goatcher and high roller specialist Ali Imsirovic were the next players eliminated. Dutchman Maximilian Diender fell in third-place to leave Foxen and Scheel heads-up and Foxen exacted revenge for Bicknell’s bubble finish by getting the job done.
