Earlier this month, Brazil’s Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao outlasted 3,216 opponents in the $300,000 guaranteed Grand Prix Poker Tour Online, winning $42,643.33 in the process. Now you have the chance to win even more money than Simao because we have upped the guarantee for the next GPPT Online to a whopping $400,000.
The concept is a simple one: play as many Day 1s as you wish between May 29 and June 6 and attempt to build a stack for the Day 2 at 8:00pm BST on June 6. Each of the Day 1 tournaments are played as a freezeout, and see you play 16 levels before the tournament closes. Have chips in front of you at the end of the 16th level and you have made it through to Day 2.
If you aren’t happy with how many chips you progressed with, you can enter another Day 1, but making it through to Day 2 with more than once stack forfeits the smaller of your chips stacks.
On May 29, there are a total of six Day 1s on the schedule, kicking off every two hours from 1:00 p.m. Late registration is open for eight levels (which are 12-minutes each).
There are then four more Day 1s every day from May 30 to June 4, each starting every two hours from 5:00 p.m, with six more on June 5, and seven on June 6, including three turbo structured tournaments.
Day 2 of the $400,000 guaranteed GPPT Online opens its doors at 8:15 p.m on June 6 and sees the blinds rolled back two levels to 2,000/4,000/500a so that you have more room to manoeuvre; these blinds then increase every 16-minutes until a champion is crowned.
You can find all of the Day 1s under Live Events>Dusk Till Dawn [DTD]>GPPT Online [DTD] in the partypoker lobby, or under the Power Series filter where they are highlighted in green text to make them easier to find.
The plan is to add $100,000 to the next GPPT Online leg each month that the guarantee is hit, and we’re hoping to have a $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament in the not too distant future, with your support it will happen.
