Day 3 of the $40 million guaranteed POWERFEST continued on Tuesday 8th May with the crowning of another 24 champions, including another winner of a POWERFEST Championship Event.
Those 24 events awarded a cool $3,423,455 in prize money, taking the total prize money paid out to $11,711,502 over the course of the first three days. This massive sum was assisted by the fact the latest $1 million guaranteed Championship Event surpassed its guarantee. The POWERFEST #14-SHR: $1M Gtd Championship Event 6-Max NL Hold’em hit its $1 million guarantee despite it being a warm, Tuesday evening when the tournament shuffled up and dealt. Some 218 entries were processed before late registration closed, meaning the guarantee was beaten by $90,000.
$1,090,000 was shared among the top 30 finishers so spare a thought for the partypoker LIVE President John “John_Duthie” Duthie who was the 31st place finisher and therefore gained the unwanted title of bubble boy.
Team partypoker’s Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello secured another POWERFEST cash by finishing in 26th place for $10,046 but it was Bertrand “ElkY_” Grospellier who went the deepest of the partypoker stable; he burst the final table table by finishing in seventh-place for $29,975.
Uruguay’s “DrMiKee” exited in sixth-place for $43,600, a result that pushes his lifetime online winnings every closer to $7 million. “Thebattler33” then bust in fifth-place for $65,400 with UK-based Spaniard “Malakastyle” falling in fourth-place for $87,745.
Albania’s “porketttt” saw their tournament end in third-place for a cool $120,115, which left “igalinek” and “rdcrsnn” to lock horns heads-up for the title. These last two players struck a deal that awarded igalinek $199,594 with rdcrsnn collecting $225,505 and a POWERFEST Championship Event trophy.

POWERFEST #16-HR: $500K Gtd NL Hold’em saw its guarantee beaten by some $91,000 after 591 players turned out for the $1,050 buy-in high roller event.
Team partypoker were seriously out of luck in this tournament because Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard, Bertrand “ElkY_” Grospellier and Isaac “Ike_Haxton” Haxton fell in 90th, 85th and 84th place respectively with 80-places paid. Ouch!
Kristen “Krissyb24” Bicknell did navigate her way into the money place, eventually falling in 23rd place for $4,787.
Everyone at the eight-handed final table locked up $9,396 and everyone finishing from seventh upwards collected at least a five-figure cash haul. A special mention has to go to fourth-place finisher “sk2ll_m0dR” who has already won two POWERFEST events.
The eventual winner, and recipient of a six-figure cash, was “TheLivingMeme” who walked away with a $108,862 addition to their bankroll. Top work!
