We crowned 16 more champions on Day 2 of the $30 million guaranteed KO Series and paid out another $1,507,656. There was another near-miss for a member of Team Online, this time Matt Staples came agonisingly close to claiming a title.
It was only yesterday that Matt’s brother Jaime Staples fell short of a victory. Jaime finished fifth in the KO Series #03-HR: $750K Gtd 8-Max for a career-best $35,276. It would have been more had it not been for Jaime’s king’s being cracked by ace-eight courtesy of an unlikely straight.
This score by Matt secured him his second-best online poker tournament prize. Let’s check out what he won.
