Day 5 of the partypoker LIVE Caribbean Poker Party focussed on the $10 million guaranteed MILLIONS World Main Event where 272-players bought in for $10,300. Only 134 of these starters had chips in front of them by the time the curtain came down on the Day 1B proceedings and nobody had more chips to bag than Gabriel Andrade.

Andrade hails from Houston, Texas and has a shade over $300,000 in live poker tournament winnings. His largest cash weighs in at $43,935, his reward for a deep run in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event where he busted in 271st place. He is yet to win a major tournament and has two final table appearances to his name. Will Andrade get the monkey off his back here in The Bahamas?

Norbert Szecsi of Budapest, Hungary ended Day 1B with a stack of 5,500,000 and second-place on the Day 1B leaderboard. The Hungarian has more than $2.7 million in winnings, helped along by a $345,037 score when he won the first of two WSOP bracelets in 2013. Szecsi finished 14th in the $10,300 MILLIONS High Roller earlier this week and is now gunning for his second cash of the Caribbean Poker Party.

Team partypoker’s Philipp Gruissem may not play as many live events as he once did – you can choose to be picky when you have more than $11.3 million in cashes – but he bought into this event and excelled during the second starting flight. Gruissem bagged up 4,585,000 chips at the close of play, enough for fourth-place on the night and 10th place overall.

Several of Gruissem’s teammates made it through the shark-infested Day 1B waters. They were Ludovic Geilich (2,260,000), Carl Froch (1,855,000), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (1,730,000), Josip Simunic (1,300,000), Kristen Bicknell (1,270,000), Renato Nomura (1,255,000), Roberto Romanello (1,200,000), and Marcel Luske (895,000).

Day 2 commences at 12:00 local time and players still have the chance to buy in up to 14:20, meaning the total current attendance of 766 entries should increase. Day 1A saw the 423 field reduced to 231 and Day 1B’s crowd was 272 entrants with 134 players surviving.

This means Day 2 starts with 365 players returning to their seats in the hope of progressing to Day 3. Ten players, from 71 hopefuls, have already made it to that stage having played Day 1 & 2 online at partypoker. Nino Ullman will be there with more than 16.4 million chips, as will 2019 WSOP Main Event finalist Nick Marchington (8.7 million), Stefan Schillhabel (5.1 million) and Thomas Boivin (1.2 million).
