Monster Series Day 5 crowned another 12 champions who now have enough funds to get involved in the series-ending Championship Events on Sunday 9th June.
Four Championship Events take place on June 9th costing $2.20, $11 and two $55 buy-in tournaments. They have guarantees of $10,000, $50,000, $150,000 and $200,000, the latter being a PKO event.
Buy into the Championship Events direct or try to win your way into them for one-tenth of their buy-in by entering the last remaining Phase 1 tournaments. You know it makes sense.

Moldova’s “Susanin_EV” was the biggest winner on Monster Series Day 5 courtesy of being crowned the champion of the Monster Series #20-H: $75K Gtd 8-Max PKO event.
A field of 1,629 players descended on partypoker in an attempt to get their hands on a slice of the $85,522 prize pool. The Moldovan was the last player standing and was rewarded handsomely as a result. First place was worth $5,397, a sum boosted by $6,066 worth of bounty payments
The runner-up did well for themselves too. Belgium’s “getmechips” claimed the $5,388 runner-up prize and added $2,073 worth of bounties to that score having been busy eliminating opponents on their way to a second-place finish.
Shout out to the player who finished sixth, “You_Know_Who_” from Brazil who amassed $1,097 worth of scalps in addition to collecting $1,162 in prize money. Only the top two finishers won more from the bounty prize pool.

Monster Series #19-H: $50K Gtd 8-Max Deepstack was another huge event on Monster Series Day 5 thanks to 1,295 players exchanging $55 for a chance of becoming a poker champion.
The very nature of tournament poker means there can only ever be one champion and that was the United Kingdom’s “BigBlackBooty” who emerged victorious to get their hands on a juicy $10,203 prize, the only player in the event to secure a five-figure score.
BigBlackBooty defeated Lithuania’s “Equanimity_” one-on-one to lock up the title and the lion’s share of the $64,750 prize pool. Second place in this event was worth a still more than respectable $8,620, with everyone but eighth-place finisher “rusplayer66” of Russia banking four-figures for their initial investment.

Another big PKO tournament on Monster Series Day 5 was the $33 buy-in Monster Series #22-H: $25K Gtd 8-Max PKO Fast that saw 1,181 players turn out in force to create a guarantee-busting $37,201 prize pool.
A pair of Brazilian grinders shared the most of that prize pool after finishing in first and second place. The runner-up was “carloss.ox” with the champion being fellow South American “woodyallin04”.
Our champion scooped a $2,384 prize plus $2,739 from the bounty prize pool while the bridesmaid prize for this tournament weighed in at $2,380 with $210 worth of bounties added on top.
